3 What is Hamachi? LogMeIn Hamachi is a hosted VPN service that securely connects devices and networks, extending LAN-like network connectivity to mobile users, distributed teams and business applications. You can easily create secure virtual networks on demand, across public and private networks. Hamachi is managed and maintained from anywhere via the web, securely. What are the used TCP ports? All ports are «outbound» ports so you did not need to open ports to your internal Network. 1. External port: Protocol: TCP (Initiator port) 2. External port: Protocol: TCP (Session port) 3. External port: Protocol: UDP (Relay connection port) If none of these listed ports are available for outbound connexion, Hamachi client will usei3 External port: 443 Protocol: TCP (Non-SSL). Why Hamachi is supported by Artica? Hamachi is a great tool that able to create multiple VPN tunnels between servers. It should be used for support needs when the Free support needs to access to Artica servers when it is not possible to access to Artica servers directly for security purpose. In other way, companies can use this cloud network in order to connect easly remote sites. Hamachi provide a Free and a commercial licence. The Free licence The free version of LogMeIn Hamachi can be used 100% free for non-commercial use and is limited to 16 computers. The Commercial licence. The commercial version of LogMeIn Hamachi accelerates mediated network traffic, allows networks with up to 256 computers, and is subject to an annual or monthly subscription fee for About 199$/Year

4 Register and create your first Network Browse the logmein website and click on the «Access computers remotely» Set your address and click on continue button

5 On the LogMeIn panel, click on the left menu on the «Network» item and click on «Start Creating Networks» button. Set the network name and the description of your public network Select «Mesh» has your Network type. Click on «Continue» button

6 On the Join Request section, choose «Must be approved» Enable the «A password is required to join this network» Click on «Continue» button You network is now ready to be added inside Artica interface. When clicking on the My Networks left pan, the Network list is displayed Click on the «Edit» link near the network name. You will see a number under the ID column. This ID is important, it will be used to join the network on Hamachi clients.

7 Use Artica has an Hamachi Client You need to use an Artica version or above. Install Hamachi client Open the Setup Center, on the software list, click on «Network Services». With the search field, type «LogMeIn Hamachi» Click on the left icon in order to schedule the installation task. Once installed, the row must be turn from grey to black in order to confirm that the software is installed.

8 Return back to the main interface. You will see the LogMeIn Hamachi Client on the left section. Click on it. On the right side, you have a form. On the dropdown list, select «Join a network». Set the Network password that match «A password is required to join this network» on the LogMeIn panel. Set the Network ID « » under the network tab. If the connection is a success, the status must be turned to green. The LogMeIn Administrator should see your server under the LogMeIn panel.

9 Under the LogMeIn panel, the administrator must click on «Join Requests» left menu. It will see all computers connected and waiting approvals. After accepting the approval, your Artica server will be available trough the Hamachi private network. All connected clients will be listed with their hamachi private network IP address.

10 Use your HTTP proxy This feature is useful if you need to force Hamachi client using a Web proxy in order to establish VPN connexion with Hamachi cloud servers. On the main section, click on the «HTTP proxy» link. Define the proxy settings in order to allow hamachi client to connect to. Note this is a link to the global proxy used by all artica features. Note : If you set a Proxy here, all tasks that required Internet Access will use these proxy settings (updates, checks...).

11 Allow your LAN accessing to remote Hamachi clients. Architecture This section allow to workstations/servers in your LAN to access to remote Hamachi client connected trough the same VPN hamachi network. In this case you will be able to connect to remote client on any computers inside the LAN that store your Artica Hamachi client. The basic configuration is to force the Artica server to be a gateway of the / network and forward requests to the hamachi network on the cloud. Enable the Artica Hamachi client has a gateway Click on the «Gateway» tab Enable the «Artica has a gateway» in order to enable the TCP/IP forward method. Define the Network Interface Card in the «Forward LAN to interface» dropdown menu.this will allow transfering TCP/IP requests to the Hamachi cloud for the / network. Update automatically Artica DNS server. If PowerDNS or DnsMASQ is installed and enabled on your server, you can automatically update the DNS database with the connected Hamachi clients to your private Network. You just have to fill the «Hosts database domain» field. In this case all remote hamachi client will be updated every 5 minutes on your DNS database with the specified domain. If a remote computer have «comp1.domain.tld» and has the ip address, it will be added has «comp1.yourdomain» in the DNS database.

12 Add the Hamachi route on your router/dhcp/artica gateway After enabling the Artica server has the gateway, you need to update your real gateway in order to force it to transfert the / network to the ip address of your Artica Hamachi Client. Example on the NeufBox router If your gateway is an Artica server, you have to set it inside the main network card route section If your DHCP server is an Artica server, define the route information directly inside the DHCP settings. In this case, all LAN computers will obtain the routing information without need to specify it on the gateway.
