1 Cincinnati State Men s Soccer Team Biographies Brad Baumer High School: Centerville Club Team: Team Ohio FC Injuries in his sophomore and senior years limited Brad s high school playing time, but he played for Team Ohio (a repeat state finalist) for three years. He was an honorable mention in the GWOC his junior year, tied for highest scorer. Chris Bender High School: Milford Club Team: CSA Magic Chris Bender started playing soccer in Rhode Island when he was four years old. After moving to Cincinnati, he played on teams led by the same coach from the age of six until his last season in As a freshman at Milford High School he started on the JV team and served as back up varsity keeper. As a sophomore he played JV half the year, then moved up to starting positions on varsity. He played on the varsity team his junior and senior year, and as a senior was named to the FAVC First Team. The Milford varsity team went in the GMC, overall in 2007; (2nd place) in the FAVC and overall in 2008; and (1st place Buckeye Division Champions) in the FAVC, overall in 2009 and for the season enroute to earning Division 1 District Champion and Division 1 Regional Runner-Up honors. Chris club team, CSA Magic, was the BPYSL Premier Division champion in 2008 and finished in second place in Ashton Bennett Hometown: Clarendon, Jamaica High School: Garvin Maceo Club Team: Portmore United Ashton Bennett is one of two players on the Cincinnati State Surge from Jamaica. He has been playing soccer for school and club teams in Jamaica for much of his life. His primary school won championships in 1999 and His high school team was the U-16 champion in 2004, and was named both the Benfrancis Champion and the Dacosta Cup Champion in Ashton s club team, Portmore United, was the Premiere League Champion in 2008 and the Knockout Champion in 2008 and Ashton s personal achievements include league MVP titles in 2007 and 2008 and back to back Golden Boot awards. He was the leading scorer on his school team, and set an all-time school scoring record over a five-year period.

2 Brad Bourquin High School: Wayne Club Team: Metro FC Brad s competitive soccer career started at age nine with the Warriors Soccer Club in Huber Heights, Ohio, where he was a defender. During the last four years of his club career he played for Metro FC Rapids in Kettering, Ohio which traveled across the United States. Brad s positions varied over the years, from playing in the back to midfield as well as forward. For more than six years he was a defender on the Ohio South State soccer team (ODP). At Wayne High School he started on the varsity team as a freshman and during those years was named to the Second Team All GWOC and Third Team All Miami Valley. During the season his team made it to the district finals. In high school Brad served on Student Council for two years and was a member of the varsity bowling team. Mike Brizzi High School: Loveland Mike Brizzi grew up playing soccer in Pittsburgh, Pa., and started playing club for Northern Steel at age 12. He moved to Cincinnati halfway through his freshman year, and joined Ohio Elite. He stuck with Ohio Elite for the rest of his club career, playing in the back. Through Mike played in the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy through Ohio EIite. He was also a three-year starter for Loveland High School as a midfielder and forward. He was named captain and team MVP both his junior and senior years, as well as being named First Team All-Conference. During Mike s senior year he was also named First Team All-City, First Team All Southwest and Second Team All-State. He also led his team in goals (13) and assists (13). In the classroom Mike was either on the Honor Roll or High Honor Roll, and was named to the All-Conference and All-City academic teams. Cody Clark Hometown: Bright, Indiana High School: East Central Cody Clark began playing select soccer for Kolping FC at the age of eight. After five seasons he moved to the Westside Rage, then, at age 15, moved to Ohio Elite in the U.S. Developmental Academy. He was a member of the Super Y National Team that played in Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria, and once had the opportunity to guest play for Crossfire Premier out of Washington in the Pateadoras Super Camp in California. At East Central High School in Dearborn County, Ind., he was sidelined by an injury during his freshman year, but came back as a sophomore to earn a third-in-the-state ranking for goals (35) and fifth in the state for assists (19). That year he was also named team and conference offensive player of the year, First Team All District, Honorable Mention All State while playing for a team that went to the Indiana semi-finals. In his junior year Cody recorded 29 goals and 17 assists and was again named team and conference offensive player of the year on a team that made it to the state semi-finals. He was also named First Team All District and Second Team All State as a junior. During his senior year Cody was named team captain and ended the season with 22 goals and 12 assists.

3 Noah Cox Year: Second High School: Reading Club Team: Star FC Noah grew up in Cincinnati, and played soccer for FOSC and then, for nine years, with the Star soccer club. He started in the midfield, then moved to forward. At Reading High School Noah was a four year starter. During his junior year he was named MVP and for both his junior and senior years he was a captain. This is Noah s second year playing for the Cincinnati State men s soccer program. In his first year he started as a forward or an outside midfielder. He scored one goal and had four assists. He has been on the Honor Roll at Cincinnati State for nine consecutive terms, and plans to pursue a bachelor s degree after graduation. Danny Haberer High School: Milford Danny Haberer started playing soccer at age four. He played select soccer for the Miami Township Soccer Club before joining the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy. Danny played two years in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with Ohio Elite. Danny was a four year varsity starter for Milford High School. He has played in defender positions most of his soccer career. Dylan Hoop High School: Cincinnati Christian Dylan has played club soccer for the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy since His team was in the nation s top youth league (the U.S. Soccer Development Academy) since it began two years ago. It won the State Cup in Ohio in 2006 and played in tournaments all over the country and competed against America s top clubs as well as the Youth National Team. Dylan began high school play as a sophomore, scoring 27 goals. As a junior he again recorded 27 goals. During his final year of high school soccer Dylan scored 44 goals, setting school records for most goals scored in one season and in a Cincinnati Christian career (98). Through the seasons he received All-City, All-Southwest Ohio and All- Miami Valley Conference First Team honors. In 2007 he was also named to the All-State Second Team, and in his senior year he was named to the All-State First Team and MVC Player of the Year.

4 Nathan Hudson High School: Milford Club Team: CSA Magic Nathan Hudson began playing soccer at four years old. He played club soccer on an elite team, CSA Magic. Nathan was a starting forward on Milford High School s varsity men s team for three years and was elected captain his senior year. The team won the Division I sectional and district championships and were runners up in the regional finals. Nathan was named First Team All League and Honorable Mention All City. Jake Jones High School: Glen Este Club Team: CSA Magic Jake became a starter for the Glen Este varsity team as a freshman, and that year led his team in goals and assists. As a freshman he was the secondhighest scorer in the Buckeye Division of the FAVC and its sixth highest scorer overall in the conference. In his sophomore year he again led his team in goals and assists, was again the second-highest scorer in the Buckeye Division of the FAVC and was its fourth-higher scorer overall. He was named to the All Conference First Team and was a Division 1 All-City Honorable Mention. In his junior year Jake moved from forward to midfield, but again led his team in goals and assists. He was the third-highest scorer that year in the Buckeye Division of the FAVC and its 15th leading scorer overall, and was named to the All Conference First Team. Jake s senior year was marred by injury and he played only five games. On his club team, the CSA Magic, he was a starting outside midfielder. In the 2008 season he recorded eight goals and 18 assistants on a team the won the Buckeye Premier championship, and in 2009 scored eight goals and had 11 assists on a team that was undefeated in the MRL First Division. Academically, Jake graduated from Glen Este with a GPA. Taron Jordon Year: Second High School: Mt. Healthy Club Team: FOSC Taron grew up playing basketball in Evansville, Ind. He moved to Cincinnati during his eighth grade year and graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in Taron started playing soccer for the first time ever as a junior in high school, and was a two-year starter on varsity. During his junior year he was voted Honorable Mention as an outside midfielder and received academic honors. During his senior year he was voted team captain, Second Team All- League for defense and team MVP for defense. In 2007 he played club for Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club (FOSC) where his team went undefeated in its league. The following season Taron played soccer for Cincinnati State. The team went and was ranked ninth nationally in the national conference, in addition to earning titles as league champs and regional qualifiers. Taron scored five goals and had two assists last year. In 2008 he also played club for the 1790 Cincinnati U-23 and Super 20 team that was a runner-up in its regional tournament. This spring Taron continued to play soccer for 1790 Cincinnati. The team went undefeated in its league and finished second in the Founders Cup and first in the nationals for the 2009 U-23 Tournament of Champions.

5 Grant Kercher High School: Centerville Club Team: Team Ohio FC Grant Kercher was born in England and has a natural passion for the game of soccer. He played for Team Dayton at the age of 10 and remained with them when they became Team Ohio at U15. Grant's team won State Cup in 2007 and has made the State Cup Finals for the past six years. Grant played mainly defense in his early years of select soccer before shifting to midfield and forward. During high school, Grant was a three-year varsity player. He was captain of the varsity team his senior year and, with 15 goals and five assists, its leading scorer. The team won its District Championship in 2008 and Grant was named to the GWOC Division 1 First Team, the GWOC All Division 1st Team, the Miami Valley First Team and the GWOC s All Star First Team. Garret Listo High School: Sycamore Club Team: Cincinnati United Premier Garret Listo first started playing club soccer when he was nine, for the Cincinnati Classics. He joined the Sycamore Arsenal when he was 11 years old, and played striker for them through his sophomore year of high school. In 2007 Garret joined Cincinnati United Premier Red where he played in the Midwest Regional League on teams that won two Ohio South state championships. Garret was also a four-year starter for Sycamore High School, on teams that won a district championship and a Greater Miami Conference Title. He is sixth in all time in points for Sycamore High School. In 2007 and 2008, he was named on the All GMC Team. During his senior year he was named Best Offensive Player for Sycamore. In 2009 he qualified for the 2009 Super 20 National Playoffs. Kyle McCray High School: Beavercreek Club Team: Galaxies FC Kyle McCray began playing club soccer at age eight for the U-10 Beavercreek Celtics. After three years he began playing for Team Dayton, which during his U-12 and U-13 seasons were state finalists. During Kyle s U-15 season Team Dayton and Ohio FC merged to become Team Ohio. Kyle played with Team Ohio for two years, then went to the Ohio Galaxies. Kyle svarsity team at Beavercreek during his junior year was the 2007 GWOC Central Division Champion, 2007 District Champion and 2007 Regional Finalist. During his senior season Beavercreek was the 2008 GWOC Central Division Champion, 2008 District Champions, 2008 Regional Champion and 2008 Division 1 OHSAA State Finalist. During his senior Year Kyle was named to the GWOC All-Conference First Team and to the First Team 2008 MVSSCA Division I All Dayton South.

6 Austin Morgan High School: Colerain Austin has been playing keeper since he was seven years old. He started playing select soccer for Ohio Elite at the age of 13 and stayed with Elite the rest of his club career. He started all six years he was with Elite and played in the developmental academy with Elite for two years. He was successful in the ODP program, making the state team for three years and the regional team once in In high school he was named All Conference and All City in his junior and senior years. He was also named team captain both years. He was named GMC conference Keeper of the Year. In the classroom he maintained a 3.67 GPA while taking honors courses throughout high school. Zak Moss High School: Fairfield Club Team: FOSC Zak Moss played club soccer with both the MTSC Magic and the FOSC Blitz. At Fairfield High School Zak played on the varsity team all four years. He was team captain his senior year, and led the team, league, and city in assists. The highlight of his high school career was starting as a sophomore in 2006 on a team that made it all the way to the Ohio State Finals. Zak earned First Team All City and First Team All GMC in both 2007 and He won the defensive player award at Fairfield in 2007, but finished his high school career with 25 assists and four goals. At the Indiana University soccer camp he received the Most Outstanding Player award and was on the All Star team at both the Indiana University and Northern Illinois Summer Prospects soccer camps. Zak is involved in Young Life and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Demarley Oliver Hometown: Kingston, Jamaica High School: Bridgeport High School Club Team: Waterhouse FC Demarley, a defender, is one of two Jamaican players on the Cincinnati State team this year. As a young player he gained valuable experience as a keeper, and was named best U-14 keeper on a club team that went to the finals of its conference. The following year Demarley skipped the U-16 division and went to a team that won the Manning Cup. That year he received a personal award for being one of the most disciplined players in the league. In 2007 Demarley began playing in the field for his club team. He was named a team captain and defender of the year, and the team made it to the finals of its league. His last season in Jamaica was with Waterhouse FC, one of country s premier teams.

7 Ryan Phelps High School: LaSalle Club Team: FOSC Ryan Phelps was born in Cincinnati and started playing soccer at the age of three. When he was 13 he joined the Big Blue Soccer Club and then moved to the FOSC Blitz. At LaSalle High School he became a starter on the varsity team as a sophomore and remained a starter for the rest of his career there. In 2007 Ryan started for 1790 in the regional finals on a team that ended up winning the U-20 national finals later that year. This was the first time any team out of Cincinnati had won a national title. At the end of Ryan s club career the FOSC Blitz wound up finishing first in the Buckeye Premier League a first for any FOSC team. Ben Rascona High School: Deer Park Club Team: Cincinnati United Premier Ben Rascona grew up in Cincinnati, and started playing soccer at the age of four. He started with the Ohio Developmental Program and club at the age of 13, and made the Ohio South State Team every year that he played ODP through age 17. Ben began playing soccer for Cincinnati United Premier at age 17, and was a member of the team that won the 2009 U19 boys Ohio South State Cup. Ben also played for the CUP team in Super 20 s during the summer of 2009 and hopes to go to the Super 20 League National Championships at the end of the season. At Deer Park High School he was the leading scorer every season from freshman year to senior year. He is the record holder for most career goals at his school with 56. Ben made the All Southwestern Ohio team all four years in high school. He was Second Team All League his freshman year, First Team All League his sophomore through senior years, and Second Team All State his junior and senior years. Ben was the team captain his junior and senior year and was awarded team MVP two years. In addition to soccer, Ben played football and basketball for his high school, and was named First Team All State in football his senior year. Graham Schaeper High School: Mount Health Club Team: Kolping FC Graham Schaeper started playing club for FOSC Blitz at age nine, then at age 10 played club for Kolping playing up a year ever since joining as forward. In 2005 he participated in the Ohio Development Academy. Graham was also a four-year varsity starter for Mt. Healthy High School, as a forward. During his freshman year he scored nine goals. In his sophomore year Graham recorded 10 goals and eight assists and was named to the All-League Second Team. As a junior he scored 15 goals and had seven assists, and was named best offensive player on his team and to the All-League First Team. Graham again earned those honors during his senior year, which saw him score 17 goals and notch seven assists.

8 Kyle Shrewsbury High School: Wayne Club Team: Team Ohio FC Kyle Shrewsbury was raised in Dayton, Ohio, and began playing soccer at the age of four. He started his select soccer career at age eight with the Warrior Soccer Club, and subsequently played with Metro FC and, since his U13 season, with Team Ohio FC (also known as Team Dayton). Kyle has been to the state championship with his club team three times. Kyle played high school soccer for Wayne High School. He was a varsity starter all four years of his high school career and was a captain on the team, which made it to the regional finals twice during his tenure. Kyle has recently been playing defense for his club and high school teams, but has also played forward and midfielder in both venues. His individual awards include being named to the Ohio Cup All Star Team and designation as MVP during separate summer soccer camps at Wright State University. Jimmy Warren High School: Northwest Club Team: FOSC Jimmy Warren began playing soccer when he was five years old, and played for the Corpus Christi Sports Club and Kolping Hitze before joining the Fairfield Optimist Soccer Club in He played on FOSC teams that won the MASC championship in 2008 and again in At Northwest High School he was a three-year starter on the varsity team, playing primarily as a sweeper, stopper, and center midfielder. In his sophomore year he was presented the Paige Award by the coaching staff as the est newcomer to the varsity team. In his 2007 junior season he was team captain and named to the First Team All Fort Ancient Valley Conference and won an All City Honorable Mention. During his senior year he was again a team captain and named to the First Team All Fort Ancient Valley Conference. Noah Zimmerlin High School: Beavercreek Club Team: Team Ohio FC Noah Zimmerlin has been playing club ball in Ohio South since he was 11, primarily as an offensive center midfielder. His club experience includes three seasons in the premier division of Region II, MRL. His teams included three state semifinalists, four state finalists, and one state champion. In his high school career, he held the distinction in 2008 of being the only four-year varsity player at Beavercreek (and only the third there ever). In the seasons he started, Beavercreek was conference champion three times, district finalist once, district champion twice, regional champion once, and state finalist once. His awards include a Bronze Medal Varsity during his sophomore year; Third Team All Miami Valley, Second Team All Central Division and the Silver Medal Varsity during his junior year; team MVP, league assist leader, First Team All Central Division, Second Team All Miami Valley, Gold Medal Varsity Award during his senior year.

9 Corey Zinser Year: 1 st High School: Kings Club Team: Cincinnati Classics Hammer FC Corey started playing club soccer at the age of 13 with Lakota United. He moved to Thunder United Metro at the age of 14, and then to the Cincinnati Classics Hammer FC at the age of 15 where he played the next three years. Corey has been strictly playing keeper since age 10. In high school, Corey has played for Kings High School all four years. Last year he played at Ohio Northern University and went with the team as it made it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament.
