3 How Sidekicker works 3 Client selects which Sidekick they would like to do the shift. 1 A business makes a request on the Sidekicker platform. 4 Sidekick and client get in touch via text or call. 2 Sidekicks apply for the job by leaving an application statement. What to expect with Sidekicker If you re looking for a job that can fit in next to your other commitments such as a part-time job, studies or travel, Sidekicker is the perfect platform for you. Sidekicker allows you access to short term shifts that you can apply for when you are looking for extra cash or have some spare time. Keep in mind that the number of jobs on the platform varies and most jobs are filled within 48 hours which means your application needs to be quick! Sidekicker works across Australia and New Zealand so if you re a traveller or just like to move around, you can update your location to see the jobs in that area without doing another interview. 6 7

5 EXPERIENCED Our expectations As a Sidekick, you are part of a community of professional, experienced and well-presented individuals. Being part of this community means that you are held to high standards of service, and it means following a set of guidelines and rules for being on the platform. PUNCTUAL As a Sidekick, you are expected to show up on time, for every shift. It s best to arrive minutes early so you can meet the client, get changed if you need to and are ready to hit the ground running when your shift starts. PROFESSIONAL Sidekicks are professionals and strive to deliver excellent service. Sidekicks are well presented and follow all requirements set out in the job description. Sidekicks are trained professionals with prior experience so they can hit the ground running for any shift. Each Sidekick is screened and interviewed, so they are only ever approved for work they have done before. GREAT SERVICE Sidekicks always deliver excellent customer service. They love working with people and are great team players with a good attitude. The average Sidekick rating is 4.9 out of 5. APPEARANCE/UNIFORM Some shifts may have a uniform requirement, particularly for hospitality work. Make sure you always take a note of any uniform requirements and come prepared. If you do not have a hospitality uniform get in touch with us and we can assist you. GOOD COMMUNICATOR Sidekicks make sure to get in touch with the client when selected for a shift and confirm the shift by replying to the text message sent from the Sidekicker team a day before. 8 9

6 Discipline CANCELLING A SHIFT If you are unable to work a shift you have been hired for, please call Sidekicker ASAP on We have strict guidelines for cancelling shifts as clients are relying on us. Cancelling a shift could affect your rating on your profile or result in your account being temporarily deactivated. If you are unwell and can provide us with a Doctor s Certificate, please send it to support@sidekicker.com.au and we ll make sure your account is not affected. NOT SHOWING UP FOR A SHIFT If you do not show up for a shift that you have been selected for, and you do not let Sidekicker know, this is grounds for immediate removal from the platform. If any money is owed, Sidekicker reserves the right to withhold $50 from your pay. SIDEKICKER DOES NOT TOLERATE THE FOLLOWING... - Repeat cancellations - Lateness - Showing up with the wrong uniform - Negative client reviews - Bad attitude 10 11

7 Pay Please ensure you always have the correct and up to date bank account details, TFN, tax declaration, Super and address so we can process your pay. WHEN WILL I GET PAID? Payments are processed each Monday. This is a bank transfer so it can take up to three days for your pay to appear in your bank account. Keep in mind, if you re a large group of Sidekicks completing a job, this might take longer as all Sidekicks must have logged their hours in order to be paid. 8 Jobs you can do There are two different job types on Sidekicker with the difference lying in the employment relationship. SKPLUS Larger clients want Sidekicker to handle everything. On SKPLUS jobs, Sidekicker will directly employ you and handle your tax obligations and Super. The hourly rate displayed on your job is your earnings excluding Super. Please be aware that depending on your situation, tax may be deducted from your pay. Therefore it is important that you have your TFN, Super fund, tax declaration and full address filled out. Clients such as Uber, Rydges, Epicure and many more are on SKPLUS. SKMARKET You are an independent worker completing ad-hoc tasks. You are responsible for reporting your own tax and have a direct relationship with your client. The hourly rate displayed on your job is excluding tax. You can find all your SKMARKET invoices under Transaction History in your Account Settings and need to include these in your tax return

9 3. UNSURE OF SOMETHING? If you re at a job and you re not sure of the instructions Problems? 1. FRUSTRATED CLIENT? All businesses that use Sidekicker have a point of contact at Sidekicker. If your client is frustrated with an aspect of Sidekicker (the website, payment etc) please tell them to get in touch with their contact or to call Sidekicker on RUNNING LATE? You should never be running late for a job (make sure you get there 5-10 minutes early). Always check road and public transport conditions to allow yourself enough time in the event of an accident or delay. If you are, please contact the client ASAP to let them know, even if it s only a minute. The client s number will be on the job post, so make sure you have this saved in your phone. given, ask questions! As a Sidekick, no shift is the same and the client knows this. Make sure you know what your tasks are. 4. UNCOMFORTABLE? If you re asked to do something you feel uncomfortable or unsafe doing, please let the client know. Contact Sidekicker on if you come across any situation like this. 5. JOB RUNNING OVERTIME? You always get paid for as many hours as you work. Keep in mind that some jobs may go for longer or less than the advertised time. Please also take note if the job has a paid or unpaid break. 6. WHAT TO DO IF A CLIENT OFFERS YOU TO BE PAID OUTSIDE THE SIDEKICKER PLATFORM? All payments must be made through Sidekicker to ensure that both parties are protected under our Terms of Service and by our worker s compensation insurance. If anyone offers you cash in hand for a job, please get in touch with Sidekicker and we will give you a $30 bonus for letting us know

10 Profile tips The Sidekicker platform is filled with over 2000 skilled Sidekicks and the pool is growing each day. Your Sidekicker profile is the only tool that companies use when selecting the right Sidekick for the job (they do not have access to your resume). Therefore it is extremely important that you put a lot of work into your profile and make sure it stands out and highlight your personality, skills and experience! The better your profile is, the more likely you ll be selected for the jobs you want! Here are our tips and tricks to help you become a successful Sidekick... ACCOUNT SETTINGS Complete all tabs and ensure all details are correct: - Account Details - Employment Details - Documentation (Certificates such as RSA, Food Handling Certificate, Police Check and Working with Children certificate) - Bank Details 18 19

Biography section - Introduce yourself with a friendly greeting, talk about what you are currently doing (study, work, travel etc.). - Outline your work experience (industries, roles and skills gained). - Finish with your key strengths and why you would be a great Sidekick. 2. What you do when you re not Sidekicking - Talk about some of your interests, hobbies and what you do for fun 3. Work categories - Complete Why you re great for these jobs (summarise your relevant experience, any personal qualities or expertise and why you would be suitable for these jobs) What you edit - Click Add Experience to fill in previous employers (company name, position, length of employment and description) (You must complete both of these 2 areas for all your categories, otherwise we will remove them from your profile) 20 21

12 Bring our platform with you when and where ever you want to APPLICATION STATEMENT When you apply for a Sidekicker job, it is really important to always write an application statement to highlight your skills, experience and why you should be picked. When there s a large number of Sidekicks applying for the same job, results show that the Sidekicks who are most successful are the ones with brilliant profiles and a well written application statement. This is the first message that will show up for the client when you apply so this is a great way to leave a good first impression too! 22
