Psalm 23:1 VBS 2016: Barnyard Roundup June 13 to 17, 2016, 8:45 am to 11:50 am Held at St. Anne Church Camino Diablo Rd, Byron Open to all children entering Kindergarten to 6 th grade for the 2016/17 school year. Ride on down to the Roundup where Jesus gathers us together for a week of country fun! Each day begins at the Big Barn and includes Barn Raising Bible stories, Bales of Fun Games, Moovin' and Groovin' Music, Bountiful Blessings Snacks (for a morning snack), Udderly Cool Crafts or the Sheeps Pen Science Lab and Barnyard Missions. Everything draws to a spectacular conclusion at a hoedown performance by all of the children on Friday evening an event that s fun for the whole family. Children with special needs are welcome, and a parent or guardian must accompany them throughout the program. Please note that for the safety of everyone, identification may be required when picking up your child at the close of each day. Registration For the 5-day camp the cost is $35 for your 1 st child and $30 for each additional child. Registration will be accepted through June 1, All participant families (including children of volunteers) need to complete a Registration Packet to reserve a space. Adult volunteers should complete our Adult Volunteer form (included) and background check. Youth Volunteers should complete the Youth Volunteer packet available from your church or via e- mail from tina_duncan@yahoo.com. Space is limited (due to fire codes) so sign up soon! Forms should be delivered by June 1 to: Delta Community Presbyterian Church, 1900 Willow Lake Rd, Discovery Bay. Volunteers Needed Vacation Bible School can be an exciting time for parents, grandparents, and older siblings too. Everyone is encouraged to join in and help with registration, crafts, music, skits, photography, physical activities, supplies, or financial support. A nursery is available for children of volunteers. Let us know how your family can help by completing the Donation and Volunteer Form in this packet. 4 VBS Adult Volunteer Background Check St. Anne Church (and most of our churches) now requires all volunteers with regular access to minors to be Livescan fingerprinted. This is a ONE TIME process and will not need to be repeated in subsequent years. In addition, all volunteers will need to complete the Shield the Vulnerable on-line course every 3 years to be trained in the signs of child abuse, reporting procedures, awareness of the characteristics of child abuse perpetrators, and in steps that can be taken to safeguard the children in our care. The safety of our children and youth volunteers is our highest priority. While this will require some additional steps in the volunteer process, we believe this is an important and necessary process. The steps for all adult volunteers, whether a past volunteer or new are: (1) Complete the front and back side of this form and turn in with your VBS registration. (2) If you are a NEW volunteer, or have not completed the Shield the Vulnerable training in the last 2 years ( please take the on-line course and submit certificate to volunteer coordinator at volunteer meeting. (3) You will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator, Tina Duncan, (4) All NEW adult volunteers must have a Livescan background check performed Please obtain a copy of the Livescan form from the following link: and take it to Brentwood Police station (or any police station offering live scan) and complete the fingerprinting. The cost should be about $30 and can be a donation or St. Anne s can reimburse you for the cost of the scan. Note: you must use the form from the Oakland diocese and not one from the police department. I have read and understand the above background check process, and agree to it.
