5 Eat well! The Eatwell Plate is for everyone over two years old The Eatwell Plate shows the types and proportions of different foods from different food groups contributing to a healthy balanced diet The Eatwell Plate does not have to apply to every meal Balance can be achieved over a day/week

16 What is not shown on the plate? Fluid - Water, liquid milk and fruit juice On average the body needs two litres of fluid (water) a day to help the body to function properly 6-8 glasses water daily Try to limit fruit juice to 150ml as it contains sugar!
17 Composite foods Much of the food we eat is in the form of dishes or meals rather than individual foods These are called composite foods Composite foods are made up from more than one food group from the Eatwell Plate Can you name some composite foods?
