1 University-wide Key Performance Indicators 2006

2 Foreword This is the second year in which we have published our Key Performance Indicators in booklet form, using traffic light colours to identify our progress towards stretch targets. The first edition was well-received and led to widespread discussion around the university about our institutional performance. This year we have added some new indicators, but sparingly so that as a set of key ones they remain relatively memorable and stable. The full set of internal performance indicators can be found at I hope that you find these Key Performance Indicators useful as a guide to our progress and as an aid to deciding how we should use our resources wisely so as to reach our goals. As I said last year, our aim is to be a green university. All data is reported in the year it was published. 2 The liquidity ratio is the Monash preferred measure whilst the current ratio is used by DEST. For further explanation, please see section 9 (pg 17). The colour code relates to performance against the Monash measure. 3 Go8 average is calculated by summing the Go8 figures then dividing by eight. It is a simple way of measuring the average performance of a Go8 university and results may be distorted due to extreme values.
