OF WORKING DAYS: 250 DAYS COST OF PLANT AND MACHINERY: RS LAC COST OF PROJECT:RS LAC IRR: % Project Description Solvent Extraction is the process used for extraction of oil from Oil Cakes of Oilseeds after Primary processing in Oil Mill. It is also used for Oilseeds / Oil bearing materials with relatively lower percentage of Oil, after preparing such materials in suitable preparatory equipments like seed cracker, cooker, flakers and extruder cooker. Commonly processed Oilseeds and Oil bearing materials in Solvent extraction includes oil cakes of Groundnut, Rape / mustard seeds, Sunflower, Coconut and Castor seeds, Soybean, Cotton seed, Rice bran, Maize Germs and Safflower are processed in Solvent extraction plant, after preparing them in suitable preparatory plant. Looking to the availability of multiple Oilseeds and Oil bearing materials in the project area, a solvent Continuous extraction plant with 300 TPD Capacity is suggested as potential project. This project can be set up as stand-alone project or as one important Process plant in an Integrated Oilseeds processing project, with an Edible oil Refining. Product Applications Applications: End products from Solvent Extraction plant are Solvent Extracted Vegetable oils and Deoiled cakes. Solvent extracted Oils are further processed in Vegetable oil refineries to make them suitable for human consumption. De-oil cakes are reach source of protein, and hence it is used largely as Animal feed and manufacture of protein based products, including extruded snacks after suitable processing. Market and Growth Driver India is having fast growing consumption of edible vegetable oils and hence there is continuous growing demand for Solvent Extracted Vegetable oils by Refining Industry in the country in general and Maharashtra in particular. India is net importer of vegetable oils and hence this demand is sustainable for long period. Growth Drivers The major growth drivers for Edible Oils and Solvent extracted Oil cakes are as below; a) With a fast growing population, urbanization and fast changing life style there is continuous growing demand for Refined / Edible Vegetable oils and their Abhyuday Techno Economic Consultants Private Limited 2

Considering population growth data of the country, at basic CAGR of 2.30 %, the demand is growing minimum at this rate. b) De-oil cakes are rich source of proteins and are widely used for Animal feeds of different types, which has continuous growing demand. Output of such Animal feed consuming activities produces Dairy products, Meat, Poultry and aquaculture products etc; which are having continuous growing demand for human consumption in the country, and thus De-oil cakes are source of protein for human consumption, which has continuous growing demand. Break-up of the activities and relative time for each activity is shown below: Scheme preparation and approval : 01 month SSI provisional registration : 01 months Sanction of financial supports etc. : 2-3 months Building construction: 3-5 months Installation of machinery and power connection : months Trial run and production : 01 month Above time period is indicative, and many activities will be done concurrently and considering that aspect overall time line of 12 to 18 months is indicated. This will be critically dependent on availability of required resources for proposed project implementation. Conclusions: Looking to the Techno-economic parameters of the proposed 300 TPD Solvent Extraction plant for processing multiple commodities like Soybean, Cottonseed, Sunflower seeds and Rice bran, it has good potential in the area where required raw material is available. Reasonably well established technology and indigenous plant and machineries are available. Technical and managerial manpower is also available for such Solvent Extraction project. On the basis of above analysis it can be assumed that suggested project is technically feasible and economically viable proposition, for a potential entrepreneurs in PMFPL project area in general and Mega Food park in particular.
