2 Where is Italy? Italy is situated on the West Southern border of Europe The peninsula, along with its sorrounding islands, stretches out southwards almost to the coasts of North Africa, while eastwards it faces the Slav-Balkan territories

Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Siena, Turin, Parma, Naples and Palermo are some of its most renowned cities of art but the whole country offers a rich combination of masterpieces from different areas, landscape and culture, history and art, architecture Italy is a synonym for culture, art and history. Artistic wonders can be found everywhere. Our artistic and cultural heritage is one of the most valuable in the world.

4 Why Italy? Italy has always been a synonym for good food offering an unique explosion of flavors, scents, and aromas. Aside from having one of the most famous cuisines, it also. proposes an immense variety of different regional dishes and recipes, from more than 100 types of pizza and ways of cooking pasta to gourmet meat&seafood meals

9 The credits system The university reform introduced the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System ECTS Each ECTS credit corresponds to 25 hours of student work, including lessons and individual study. On average the workload for 1 academic year is 60 credits is a standard for comparing the study attainment and performance of students that takes the time required for learning into account These credits are earned by students once they have passed the final assessment for a course They are recognized by other degree courses and by other universities

44 Politong: Sino-Italian Campus Project aimed at students enrolled in the first year of the bachelor programs in: - Mechanical Engineering - Computer Engineering - Electronic and Communications Engineering. First year: students attend courses at the Politecnico di Torino Second Year: students selected for the project will attend it in English language at Tongji University in Shanghai. Third year is attended in Politecnico di Torino. After getting the Italian BSc degree, students can also get the Chinese BSc degree after attending an additional last semester in Shanghai.

45 Bachelor in Technology and International Business First year: students attend basics subjects at the Politecnico in mathematics, physics and computer science combined with a linguistic training and courses in national law and economics. 55 LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS To be admitted to Bachelor and Master of Science programs, it is necessary to have an Italian or English certificate according to the language of instruction. Italian B1 LEVEL Università degli studi di Roma Tre; Università per stranieri di Perugia; Università per stranieri di Siena; Università per stranieri non statale e legalmente riconosciuta Dante Alighieri di Reggio Calabria; Società Dante Alighieri (PLIDA). Certificates issued by Italian embassies, Italian Cultural Institutes, Universities or institution for Italian language courses which require a final examination (attendance certificates are not accepted) and which mention the level of proficiency obtained. English IELTS Academic minimum grade 5.0 Other certificates (TOEFL IBT, CAE ) are listed in the website

57 Students wishing to enrol in an Engineering or Architecture Bachelor Degree program must pass an admission test Students wishing to enrol in a Master of Science program go through the evaluation of the International Admissions Office. The academic career and the quality of each candidate are assessed by a Committee of Professors For Bachelor and Master of Science programs enrolment to Politecnico is possible only after also completing the compulsory pre-enrolment procedure through the Italian Embassy/Consulate.
