1 Ontario College Application Centre (OCAS) On-line Application Instructions The on-line application can be found at When you visit this site you will see four (4) coloured tabs titled Plan, Find, Apply, and Confirm. All of the tabs contain valuable information regarding Ontario Colleges and the application procedure. Plan Find information out about the Colleges, Program Types, Requirements, Application Information like Highly Competitive Programs, and Money Matters, where you can find information out about the expenses associated with your college program and financial assistance. Find Search for colleges that have your programs, find out about similar programs you may never have thought about, find out when the program start date is, what campus the program is located at and even if there is more than one start date during the school year for that program, compare programs, create a Wishlist. Apply the tab to use for applying to college in Ontario. Username (hint: use address) Account Number Application Number Pay for your application online using Visa, MC or Amex, or by mailing in your payment but must be certified cheque. Confirm the tab to us for accepting your offer of Admission to an Ontario College and also another link to the Money Matters page. Make sure you have a valid acceptable address Colleges use to contact you. To apply to an Ontario College log onto Click the third tab Apply it is in orange

2 An applicant tutorial is available which will guide you step by step through the application process First-time users will be asked to Create New Account Click on Sign Up Today" Click on Sign Up found in the left column and create your account details as requested Your username defaults as your address unless you change that You will be taken to a screen that shows your account creation has been completed. The next step is to activate your account. You must access the that has been sent to you by OCAS and click the link which will return you to the online application to activate your account. Once you activate your account you can click to log in Use your username and password to complete the application The Privacy Statement must be accepted in order to complete the application You will then begin the application - At the Applicant Dashboard you will find your name, and account number at the top - record this information for possible future use. Along the left you will proceed through your application - in the My Profile area. Directly under the Applicant Dashboard you can click "Get started with your College Application!" to begin the process. You will begin with the Personal information - YOU WILL NEED YOUR OEN HERE You will then complete the application working through the remaining screens: Contact Information Second Consent - assigns access to up to 3 other people Citizenship and Residency Education - Remember to put Thomas Merton as your current school and all other institutions you have attended. Financial Support - If you have sponsorship for financial support - the agency's are listed Experience - Can record relevant job experience, test information or other activities related to your program choice Next you will identify the date you would like to start college - At this point your are in the My applications section You will now select Program Choices - an application number has been provided to you at this point, record this number

3 You are able to apply to a maximum of 5 programs, no more than 3 at one college When choosing your program be aware that programs may exist for a college with multiple start dates, or campus - MAKE SURE YOU ARE CHOOSING THE CORRECT PROGRAM For each program you choose you will be taken to the edit program choice screen and asked to provide further information for the program you are applying to (if it applies) You can change the order of your program choices When you have added all of your program choices click "Done Adding Choices" This will take you to Basis for Admission - when done with these questions click Save to continue You will now be able to request Transcripts - additional fees are related to this request. Students applying as a current Thomas Merton student can unclick this process - you will not need to request a high school transcript as these grades will be electronically transferred by the school board. Students not currently attending Thomas Merton will need to complete this process. Save to continue - Next is the Payment Summary Page - This page displays the total fees required to process your application. You are able to make changes by unclicking the button and clicking update. You may print the summary for your records. Click Process Payment in order to pay the related fees. Your application will only be processed once payment has been received by OCAS Choose a payment method, and enter the required information. Click process transaction. Your application is now completed. Return to your application regularly for messages regarding your application.

February 1, Earliest release of offers, they will continue to be issued until Programs are full or waitlists are established. You may apply after the Feb 1, 2014 deadline and your application is considered on a first-come, first-served basis. May 1, Must confirm acceptance of an offer by this date, offers will become withdrawn after this date. Offers made after May 1, 2014 will have a deadline date to accept the offer by.
