1 2015 Anson Jones Lodge #1416 Scholarship Application Form The Minimum Qualifications for this scholarship are as follows: 1. Application is for graduating seniors only who must graduate from an accredited High school or equivalent accredited degree between January 1, 2015 and July 31, (For example, these include home schooling and private institutions such as Bay Area Christian Academy and Lutheran South Academy and Friendswood, Clear Brook and Clear Springs High schools). 2. A copy of the student s high school transcript reflecting a minimum GPA of 2.5 based on 4.0 grading system or comparable performance on other systems. 3. One (1) letter of recommendations, from teachers, employers, counselors, etc... that can speak to the student's drive, determination, and desire to succeed 4. A listing of statistics, school attended, jobs held etc A short essay on themselves, including what their goals are and what major they wish to pursue. Include community service and volunteerism and jobs where pertinent and also any extracurricular activities and describe their needs and why they are deserving of a scholarship. 6. Also include church/social activities, sports, drill/band teams, etc. 7. Student must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university of higher education for the current or subsequent school term. Trade or vocational school enrollment does not qualify for this scholarship. 8. Application and all related documents (letters, scores, etc.) may be sent by to SECRETARY@ANSONJONES.ORG to ensure timely considerations. Transcripts must be mailed to the address below. For the student: The award will be made to the institution that the student is to enroll in, and will only be valid for one year, after which time the award will be returned to the lodge. I, the undersigned, declare that I am applying for a scholarship from the Anson Jones Masonic Lodge # 1416 in Friendswood, Texas to further my education at an institution of higher learning; that all the proceeds from any scholarship which may be awarded will be used exclusively to subsidize the costs of tuition, books and other expenses directly related to my education; and that I will proceed with deliberate care to graduate. Further, I understand that this scholarship, if awarded, will be paid to my school; that the award is for one year only.
