3 Getting Started This Quick Installation Guide provides the key steps to install and configure ipldk-60 system. This guide is a light & integrated version of hardware and programming manuals. Among hundreds of features supported in ipldk-60 systems, this guide provides the instructions to most frequently used features in small companies. This guide will help installers not only to understand ipldk-60 system easily but also help to learn the capability to install and program very quickly. This guide is composed of four parts as below. 1) Overview This section is to give the basic introduction to ipldk-60 system and the general description of the whole processes for installation and programming. 2) Step 1 : Hardware installation This section describes hardware components, functions of each parts and overall hardware installation procedures. 3) Step 2 : Basic Feature This step provides the fundamental items necessary to program. Basic software operation & programming instructions will be given in this step. 4) Step 3 : Advanced Feature This gives the programming guides for advanced features. This is an optional part necessary to program with specific customer requirements. Generally, Step 1 and 2 above cover most small customers typical requirements. For complicated programming to enable specific functions and features, the original manuals can be referred. In each section, the reference pages in manuals is provided. 5 Overview Hardware Installation Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2.Understanding ipldk-60 Hardware ipldk-60 hardware is composed of 3 categories. This part will give the overall list and brief description. The following figure shows the devices which connect to the ipldk-60 system. System Connection Diagram 3 Categories : 1. 6 Overview Hardware Installation Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2.Understanding ipldk-60 Hardware Category Items Board Brief description 1.Main System 1) BKSU (Basic KSU) MBU This is the basic system of ipldk-60 that has the main system software running on CPU. (MBU is the mother board of basic system) This has basic CO/Extension interfaces and can be expanded with optional interface boards. (Basic 3 CO line, 1 DKT & 7 Hybrid Interface) Option slots one for capacity expansion, a MODU slot, VMIU/AAFU slot, VOIU Slot and CMU slot 2) EKSU (Expansion KSU) EMBU This is the expansion system of ipldk-60 for capacity expansion. This is controlled by main system software of BKSU and only provides additional CO & extension interfaces. (EMBU is the mother board of expansion system no CPU) This has basic CO/Extension interfaces and can be expanded with option interface boards. Select the proper place to install the system. BKSU and EKSU can be connected via champ cable which is provided with EKSU system. 15 Basic Feature Advanced Feature Step 2 provides the procedures to configure the basic-level features of ipldk-60 system, which are mostly fundamental and typical in the real customer sites. Most steps in this section are necessary to be configured in order to get the most effective usage of the system. 16 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-1) Initializing hardware configuration automatically ipldk-60 system software should be initialized at its first installation to properly read the hardware configuration. Get all the necessary interface boards assembled before power on. This initialization process applies only for the 1 st hardware configuration. If hardware add-on cases, different procedure should be followed. Refer to the Hardware Installation manual for the details. MBU on BKSU SW1 DIP 4 on *2) *4) SW1 DIP 4 off Procedure : 1) Complete all hardware installations and wiring. *2) Before system power on, check the SW1 DIP4 on at the MBU on BKSU. 3) Then, power on. System software automatically starts and processes the initialization which takes less than a minute. *4) Set the SW1 DIP4 off to protect from Database reinitialization after the initialization just in case of any types of system failure. This is the completion of this process. Now, system is ready to provide the default call services, which will be explained at the next page. Notes : System Database (DB) will be refreshed when it restarts in any reason with SW1 DIP4 on. It is necessary to check the hardware configuration to make sure that automatic initialization is properly performed. 17 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-2) Installing PC-Admin Program and connecting PC to the system There are two ways to do the programming of ipldk-60 system - 1) PC-ADMIN, 2) Keyset-ADMIN This guide will be primarily based on PC-ADMIN. For Keyset based ADMIN, please refer to the programming manual. 1), 2) 3)Direct LAN connection 1) Install PC-Admin S/W on your PC by running Setup.exe file of PC-Admin. Get the PC-Admin Setup file at PC Requirements : Pentium Celeron 233M or above, at least 64MB RAM, MS Windows NT/2000/XP 2) Set the IP Address of PC IP Setting on PC : x, Delete Gateway/Subnet field. Default IP of ipldk-60 : ) Connect PC and ipldk-60 (LAN port on MBU) via LAN directly 4) 4) Run the PC-Admin program on your PC. You will see the login pop-up window. Input ID/Password ID : Administrator P/W : ) Go to Tools/ Site management. Input Name and System IP. Default : and Save. Other fields are optional. 6) Position the mouse on the Site and click the right button. Click Connect(LAN) )Enter the connection password. 18 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-3) Describing the basic menu trees of PC-ADMIN Program This describes the basic level of menu architecture of PC-Admin program. Even though sophisticated administrations can be performed with this program, for the beginners, it is strongly recommended to simply follow the instructions and fully understand this guide in advance. 19 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-4) Setting the nation code as Brazil It is necessary to set the system nation code as Brazil to load the default values for Brazil market as the first step. 1) 1) Select the nation as Brazil at Location information (PGM100). 2) Check SW1 DIP4 on and click update 2 3) Reset the system by pressing the reset button on MBU. 20 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-5) Understanding the default configuration Once hardware installation(step1) and initialization(step2-1) are completed, ipldk-60 is ready to provide basic call services as followings based on the default configuration prior to any programming. From this default operation, it is necessary to do the planning of the programming for the customer site. It is recommended to use the customer requirement check-list (refer to Page 68) for effective planning. Default configuration & operation [308] Configuration [616] Configuration Default Numbering plan : 1) CO and station port numbers are assigned as in figures by default. CO number is assigned from left to right : CO1/2/3, CO4/5/6 at the upper Station number is assigned from left to right : 100~107, 108~115 at the upper STA2(101) is set as the system attendant. Default Call Operation : 1) Incoming calls from any CO lines go only to STA2(101). Then, STA2 can transfer the call to the other station as requested. 2) For outgoing calls, press 0 followed by the destination number. System will seize one of idle CO lines from CO1 to CO3 orderly by default for 308 basic case. There is no restriction pre assigned to make any type of calls like local, long distance, international. 3) For station to station internal calls, press the extension number directly. 4) These call services are the same for 24 hours, set as Day mode. Above default numbering plan & operation can be modified accordingly from the customer requests. These lists below can address most of typical requirements for small companies (Details are the Step 2-5) 1) Numbering Plan - change the station number if requested 2) CO Ring Assignment - which CO line incoming calls go to which station(s) 3) CO Group Access Station - which stations use which CO lines 4) Change the default value for the basic feature operation such as call restriction by station, MOH change, flexible button assignment for digital telephone and many more. 21 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-6) Performing the basic programming on the key items This part gives the instructions to the basic programming on the typical items for small companies. As explained in Step 2-5), the followings are most frequently requested items for basic programming ) Numbering Plan - change the station number if requested 2-6-2) CO Ring Assignment Assign which CO line incoming calls go to which station(s) 2-6-3) CO Group Access Station Assign which stations use which CO lines 2-6-4) Change the parameters for the most frequently requested features. - COS(call restriction setting) - Flexible button assignment for digital/ip telephones - Registering system speed dial list - MOH(Music on Hold) - Doorphone installation - Date/Time change of the system The terms in Parenthesis above are used for ipldk-60 administration. 22 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-6-1) Numbering Plan - change the Station Numbers and Feature Code if requested By default, the station number is set from 100~147 matched with the hardware port number as in the figure on the right. The station number can be changed by range or station by station. In addition to station number changes, there are several sets of feature codes available. Note that the station number should not be the same as the feature code numbers. 23 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-6-2) CO Ring Assignment Assigning which CO line incoming calls go to which station(s) By default, all incoming CO calls are switched only to STA2(101). This default call routing only to station 101 can be modified generally in 3 ways as follows. - Incoming calls via specific CO line(s) can be programmed to go to a certain station or multi stations. - Incoming calls via specific CO line(s) can be programmed to go to a station group (Also called as Hunt Group.) - Incoming calls via specific CO line(s) can be programmed to go to DISA (This is for assigning AA(Auto attendant)) * If a CO line is assigned for DISA above, the system AA is activated. AA activation scenario will be explained in Step 3. ** These incoming call distribution could be differently programmed among 3 options above by time of day. Default mode is Day mode, which applies the same for 24hours. In this guide, the default operation mode will only be referenced. Therefore, any call distribution exampled here will be applied the same for 24 hours. Here, the following 2 typical cases will be guided with examples. (The 3rd DISA case will be explained at Step 3-12 CCR) 1 CO1 calls go only to DKT1(100) 2 CO2/3 calls go to a station group (101~107) - Next page with circular ringing -one station ringing at a time ) 2) Assigning CO1 calls to DKT1(100) : 1) Go to CO Line Base Program/CO Ring Assignment (PGM144/145) in the menu tree and double clicking. 2) Choose CO line number 1 and press Refresh button. 3) Click the right button of mouse and click Update Tool 4) Select Mode as Day. Select Type as Station 5) Input 100~100 at Range Start and End. 6) Press update when you complete. 3) 4) 5) 6) Deleting default-assigned STA2(101) from CO1 : Go to step 3) above. 25 Basic Feature Advanced Feature 2-6-3) CO Group Access Station Assigning which stations use which CO lines By default, when a station tries an outgoing call, the system seizes a CO line from CO1 to CO3, which is in the idle status. This can be modified appropriately to the customer requirements. For example, system can be programmed that certain stations use only certain CO lines. These are the programming examples for the most frequently requested items from the customers such as COS(call restriction setting), Flexible button assignment for digital/ip telephones, Registering system speed dial list, MOH(Music on Hold), Doorphone installation, Date/Time change of the system. > Station COS / CO COS (Class of Service) Station COS is to allow or deny types of calls from the internal stations with different levels of restriction/allowance rules. CO COS is to allow or deny types of calls on CO lines with different levels of restriction/allowance rule. By default in ipldk-60, all stations and CO lines are assigned as COS level 1, no restrictions. So, any types of calls like long distance or international calls can be made from any stations through any CO lines. There are 9 different levels of COS setting (V3.7Ff version) on both station and CO, which can be applied in combination. This can be programmed on either station or COS or Both. Below is the rule table. Generally, station COS rules cover most of the requirements. For example, Station COS level 2 is ruled by Exception Table A. Station COS level 3 is ruled by Table B.
