1 EN Gamma 120 HD-RS High Performance Large Format Ceramic Printer The new Gamma 120 HD-RS is designed for the decoration of tile sizes up to 100x150cm (after firing) and features the latest HD print head technology with unique dual ink recirculation offering unreached performance, print flexibility and reliability. The new Durst proprietary Advanced High Definition Contone Grayscale Technology exceeds by far the quality and performance of other technologies on the market. It offers the highest image quality without compromises compare to other alternatives on the market in terms of productivity, flexibility, range of jetting distance for maintaining the sharpness, etc. without the need to reduce the resolution when running at higher linear speeds. This is important to assure a sufficient ink deposit for obtaining strong colors and a high contrast, perceived by the human eye as increased image sharpness. Durst holds various patents on this new, innovative technology.

2 New revolutionary print head technology with dual ink recirculation The Gamma 120 HD-RS uses the latest generation inkjet technology which encompasses several breakthrough innovations such as: unique nozzle plate design, special conformal and non-wetting surface coatings and unique continuous dual ink recirculation to unlock the full productive capacity of a printhead while lowering the recurring service cost. Compare to other technologies on the market, this innovative dual ink recirculation system assures a constant drop size across the full print head at all possible combinations of nozzles jetting to maintain perfect uniformity across the printing width. In addition jetting does not influence ink recirculation inside the print head, especially important to prevent sedimentation when working with heavily pigmented ink formulations. This minimizes initial start-up and ongoing maintenance times along with reducing associated fluid consumption. This new revolutionary print head technology with dual ink recirculation can be retrofitted to all Gamma 75 HD, Gamma 75 HDS and Gamma 120 HDS. Another important feature of all Gamma printers is the patented print engine design with unique transversal interlacing print head configuration. This at the development stage more complex design provides interlacing in the transversal direction, which means that each section of the tile is decorated with multiple print heads to assure highest print uniformity across the printing width, superior print quality and high flexibility in the design selection and production. Without this transversal interlacing print head configuration density modulations from printhead non-uniformity are visible on the tile décor.

3 New FX Module for special effects or colors Simultaneous printing with up to 7 colors The basic Gamma 120 HD-RS can be configured with up to 5 color bars for simultaneous printing of all colors loaded, providing additional design and production flexibility with faster turnaround times and production cost optimization. With the optional FX Module the number of color bars can be expanded to 7, thus providing total ink flexibility and new design and production possibilities in combination with the new effect inks. In addition with the new FX Module the Gamma will automatically extract the structure information from ongoing design section and print the structure in register with the design using i.e. the new sink-in effect ink for fully authentic and automatic reproduction of nature. 4 Modular Concept Thanks to the new modular design the Gamma 120 HD-RS can be configured in different ways to best meet the customer requirements and with the possibility to upgrade the printer at a later stage. In addition it can easily be changed on site in a few minutes from left to right hand operation and vice versa. Jetting high ink quantities at the required speeds of the glaze lines is not only necessary for darker designs but also light designs with darker lines, like a white marble (i.e. Calacatta) with black veins, which in case of insufficient ink amount per sqm would not have enough density and contrast, resulting in a flat, artificial non-3-dimensional look. In addition this unique feature allows to run different designs on the same white glazed body. This provides a fast and efficient Durst digital workflow combined with exceptional image quality and high productivity drastically shorten the overall process from the design stage to final production with minimized downtime and faster time to market.
