A large citation and abstract database of research literature: Over 40 million records dating from 1823 with complete records from 1996 to current Author Identifier, Citation Tracker, and Journal Analyzer tools Free registration to create search alerts, document citation alerts and saved searches via or RSS feeds Exports records via EndNote, RefWorks, and other citation management software Converts records to various citation styles Proxy, CITRIX or VPN compliant Links to most journals subscribed by Becker Medical Library

Performance measurement tool for scientific authors (similar concept to journal impact factors but for individuals) Established in 2005 by Jorge Hirsch at UC San Diego: "A scientist has index h if h of his Np papers have at least h citations each, and the other (Np h) papers have at most h citations each. J.E. Hirsch Source: Index to quantify an individual s scientific research output. NOTE: h-index in Scopus applicable to articles published 1996 to current.
