5 Bossard Inventory Management - Bossard Inventory Management C-parts management presents a special challenge. The large number of C-parts and their low cost may turn a simple task into a very complex one. C-parts put a heavy burden on various departments in the company. The large numbers of orders unnecessarily strain purchasing, causing receiving to be overloaded with routine work, and takes up a lot of space. Material flow to the point of use consumes a lot of resources, and assemblers often have trouble finding the C-parts. A missing C-part causes lost time and creates an unnecessary hectic situation. The efficient management of C-parts leads to noticeable and sustainable relief to all departments concerned. ABC Analysis Industry research shows that the cost of managing C-parts makes up around 50% of the total procurement costs. The actual value of these parts, on the other hand, only represents 5% of the procurement volume. This is an area that offers an enormous cost savings potential.
