3 ANSWERS Product Installation Ans1. You should always use the latest released version of IQ products. iomniscient will provide support for the latest 2 versions of IQ products, and only the demo/trial license for the latest version will be issued. Ans2. iomniscient is continually improving the qualities of our products. A new version of our products will not only contain the new functions but also include bug-fixes for the previous version. We encourage our customer to use the most current version to experience the latest features and the best quality. Ans3. You need to read through the following Guide (note this guide is for V there will be new links in due course): Ans4. The installer for Version is provided below Ans5. You must register your licenses before you can use the IQ products. Product Registration Ans6. IQ licenses are used to activate iomniscient products. After installing the IQ software, you will to apply for a license. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the IQ products.

4 Ans7. After installing the IQ Installer, there will be 2 types of Registration shortcut icons on the desktop. One is for IQ Server Registration, and the other is for Data Aggregator Server Registration. Ans8. IQ Server Registration is used to generate licenses for all the IQ Series products. Ans9. Data Aggregator Server Registration is required only for IQ-LPR, IQ-FR, Queue Management and for Counting involving large numbers of cameras.. Ans10. No matter which IQ product you plan to use, you will need an IQ server license. If you are using either IQ-LPR, IQ-FR, Queue Management or Counting across many cameras then you will need to apply for the Data Aggregator Server license as well. Ans11. A Local key is an encrypted series of numbers and characters generated from either the IQ Server Registration or the Data Aggregator Server Registration generated by the system itself. Ans12.Generating the local key is the first step in activating the software. You need to send the local key to support@iomniscient.com, who will send you a matched remote key to activate the license. Ans13. Save the information on Registration Detail tab, and click the Generate button under the Generate Local Key for IQ Server on IQServer Registration Tab.

5 Ans14. A remote key is a an encrypted key that is provided by iomniscient to match your local key to activate the associated IQ products. Ans15. Copy and send your local to support@iomniscient.com along with details of the number of cameras on each server and the software required for each one. You will receive your remote key as soon as your order details have been verified. Ans16. Copy the remote key that you receive from iomniscient Support and paste it under Apply Activation Key for IQServer, after clicking the Apply button, you will find the activated product information on the right hand side.

6 Ans17. Video Analysis takes time to configure. We therefore recommend that trials be performed with a single camera to minimize effort. If the system can be demonstrated to work on one camera it would no doubt work on others. As a general rule only 1 channel license will usually be issued for demos or trials,. If multiple camera licenses are required a justification is required, Ans18. Video analysis is used to detect events. In many instances the event (eg a theft or a person falling down) may not occur for long periods of time maybe even for years. Hence to prove or demonstrate the capability of the software it is usually necessary to stage the event. Usually it is infeasible to keep repeating staged events. Normally a demonstration can be performed with a staged event within a couple of hours. Occasionally there may be a requirement to show demonstrate the performance to different stake holders. Hence a longer license for up to 30 days can be provided. Demonstration licenses for longer than that need to be justified.

7 Longer licenses are provided if the SI is setting up a permanent demonstration facility for the software. Ans19. You need to contact support@iomniscient.com for extending your license.

8 Starting the Servers Ans20. The Alert server is the internal reference name of the IQ Server. It must be started for video analysis to be performed. Ans21. The Environment server is the internal reference name for the Data Aggregator Server,. It is only required for specific applications such as IQ-LPR, LQ-FR, Queue Management and Counting across many cameras. Ans22. You must first start the IQ (Alert) server for IQ-Series products. You can then start the Data Aggregation Server if required for other products as mentioned. Ans23. If the IQ (Alert) Server has started, this will be indicated in the Process tab in the Windows Task Manager. Ans24. If different versions of IQ software are running on the computer at the same time then problems such as this one could occur. Users must remove all previous versions of the software before installing a new version. iomniscient s Installer engine can guide you through this process. Ans25. You can check for Error Messages on the Application Log, as shown below. Send the Error message to support@iomniscient.com and you will have your response back shortly with guidance on the cause of your particular problem.

9 Starting the Client Ans26. All the video analysis functions are performed on the server(s), The IQ client is used to configure the system, to add and remove cameras to the server(s), and to adjust the settings of various parameters on the server(s). It is also used to display the video streams and to see alarms. Ans27. You need at least one client to set up the configuration parameters on the server. You can connect the two by entering localhost or the IP address of the server in the client.

10 Ans28. A Client system can connect to as many servers as you want to, as long as you have the network access permission and the necessary bandwidth. The size of the servers and the capacity of the network bandwidth will determine how many servers you can connect simultaneously. Ans29. This problem can occur if you the IQ Server has not been started first. You must verify if the alert (IQ) server has already been started. Check on the Process tab in Windows Task Manager, and you should be able to find AlertServer there if it has been started. If not shut down the IQ Client, start the IQ Server and then restart the IQ Client. Ans30. The Installer Engine automatically sets up a default username/ password during the initial set up. However, if the current windows user doesn t have the authorization to create accounts, then it will not be possible to set up the default user. Please ensure your system has the appropriate Adminstrative rights and authorization for setting up new users.

11 Quotations Ans31. iomniscient s pricing is dependent on the level of intelligence required for each camera and the number of cameras. There are three types of licensing: Perpetual License Pricing for those who want to implement the system and never touch it again. Subscription pricing for those who want their system to be updated with the latest new features on a regular basis. This model has a lower initial fee than a perpetual license but involves an annual maintenance fee for updates. Rental model (only available in some locations for customers who meet certain criteria. In the rental model there are no up front fees but there is an ongoing quarterly rental charge. Before a quote can be provided the person developing the quote needs to know the number of cameras that will require video analytics, the specific levels of the video analytics for each camera and the type of license that the user requires. Ans32. If you don t know what you require then the quote we provide may be too high or insufficient for your needs. We may make assumptions about your requirements that may be incorrect. To give you a budgetary quote that you can rely on we recommend that you discuss your environment and the problems that need to be solved in detail with our consultant. We can help you design your system and assist you in making assumptions about your requirements based on our experience of other users with similar environments. If you are an SI it may also be necessary to understand your competition and the level of knowledge of your customer. If your competition is providing video analytics with a very low level of intelligence and if the customer does not understand the difference between this and our offerings you would be unduly disadvantaged by providing a more expensive option that the customer will not appreciate. In this case we may recommend offering the customer a number of options that allow the customer to understand that there are products with different levels of intelligence and to make rational choices between these.

12 Ans33. iomniscient offers a comprehensive range of products ranging from some very simple products to the most intelligent products in the industry. We price our products to ensure that they are ALWAYS competitive with equivalent products. If you find that a competitor is offering a cheaper product you will invariably find that he is also offering a product with far less intelligence. In that case you should look at offering the customer a product equivalent to that competitor s product as an option if the customer is happy with the lower level of intelligence. Our quotes are based on the following criteria. 1). Project basis: The price is based on the required quantity for each project. In other words, the price will vary as it depends on the quantity you purchase every time. 2). Project exclusivity if you can help us to spec in for the project. If the project requires open tender when everyone else is bidding, we can give you extra discount over the other bidders to ensure you will win against anyone else. 3). Volume commitment we can provide you the best price based on what you have committed for the year. Of course, the higher the volume the better the price. We can guarantee the same special price even you are buying small quantity. 4). Market exclusivity this one we had discussed already which is per industry basis. Ans34. The company manages its accounts in Australian dollars and a significant proportion of its costs are in Australian dollars and hence this is the base currency for all pricing. We do offer pricing in other major currencies (eg USD, Euros, GBP, CDN, Remimbi) but these prices are calculated from the base currency and hence can fluctuate over time as the exchange rates fluctuate. For administrative reasons we cannot offer pricing in all currencies from around the world especially since we are not in the business of hedging currencies. Rather our focus is on developing the world s best intelligent surveillance software. Trials Ans35. We do have a large number of requests for trials. Configuring each camera takes time and hence the larger the trial the more expensive it is.

13 To ensure that the largest possible number of customers can try out our products we normally set up trials with fewer cameras but which still allow the customer to see the capabilities of the products that they are interested in. For the trial to be effective we expect the customer to agree with us on the objectives of the trial and to agree on how the trial will be conducted. Usually customers do not understand how video analysis software works and hence are not able to design their own tests. We can assist in this. We can only conduct very large trials if the customer is willing to do two things: Make sure his own resources are available throughout the trial period of assessing the trial Pay for the resources required to run the trial Ans36. Specially for small sales it is infeasible to do live demonstrations. Also for many types of applications it is not easy to simulate a real event (eg for smoke and fire detection). For this reason we have put together many demonstration videos for our various video analytics capabilities. These show the system working in various real life environments. For small customers the sales strategy is to demonstrate the product with videos rather than with live trials unless if the customer is willing to bear the cost of the trial. Ans37. A trial is usually the last step in proving our capability. When we do a trial we generally prefer a trial with 1 camera for 1 day as the idea behind a trial is to demonstrate the analytics functionality to the customer. The customer can fully appreciate the functionality of the analytics within a day. If the trial runs for 7 days then the customer will be seeing the same thing again and again seven time a waste of his time and ours. Ans38. iomniscient offers an open platform and we can therefore support all cameras that provide images in industry standard protocols. Note that many cameras provided by major brand name companies use proprietary protocols. Please refer to the list of cameras supported by the IQ product series. The cameras on this list have been tested and we know we can interface with them. This does not mean that cameras

14 that are not on the list will not operate with our system it means they have not been tested. For a fee new cameras can be tested so as to add them to the list. The fact that a camera is on the list does not mean that a camera is effective for video analysis. Video Analysis requires many special features in a camera. iomniscient consultants can advise you on the best cameras for particular applications. Ans39. We do receive a very large number of videos for configuration. Normally we require at least one to two weeks for completing the configuration for a limited set of footages. Demo License Ans40. We only issue demonstration licenses to resellers whose customers and projects have been properly qualified. This is because supporting demonstrations consume a lot of resources. Invariably resellers and customers are not able to run the demonstrations themselves unless if they have been fully trained and have experience in implementing a number of systems and therefore they require our help. Once the project has been qualified, the presales team would provide a Customer Number and then demo licenses can be issued. Ans41. Please provide us with all the details regarding the project to allow us to qualify it. We can then issue a demo license. Ans42. Please explain why the number of cameras in this demonstration should be more than 1. Integration with new cameras: Ans43. IQ Software is not dependent on the camera brand name or make, it supports all cameras with general MJPEG, MPEG4 or H.264 stream with standard RTSP, RTP or HTTP protocols. However, we have already tested and worked with few of the camera brands as mentioned in our supported hardware list (can be provided on request).

15 If the cameras you prefer to use exist in the supported hardware list there would be no integration cost involved, if the camera model is not present in the list but it supports the standard protocols a small integration would need to be done which would involve some customization cost. The cost may approximately be around US $ 8000 and may vary for different cameras. If the project worth is more that US$ 100k the cost of integration with a new model of camera would be even less. Also the camera would need to be shipped to Sydney for a minimum of 90 days for the integration. Ans44. Yes IQ Software can certainly be integrated with most of the third party software s. However please note that Integration with any third party softwares and customization of the required feature can only be done once the Trial/POC has been successfully. Also Integration may require efforts from both the parties involved. Ans45. Yes, we can provide with XML or API for integration after signing a NDA. If there is a one way integration involved which requires an output of the alarms to be shown on the third party software it can be achieved using a XML, but if the requirement is for two way integration which requires the video input for the IQ Series software to be received from a third party VMS software and the alarms to be again sent out to the VMS Software then API can be provided for the same. 16 iomni API Ans46. If the tender requirements states that a Trail or a POC has to done as a part of the tendering process then we can certainly do the required. However as Trial s or POC s would

17 involve a lot of efforts they need to be planned well in advance and also the expectations need to be set accurately prior to the demo. Ans47. Expertise on camera configuration settings is required for accurate results. iomniscient will provide Professional Services for initial configuration of cameras. In case of number of cameras being more then iomniscient will configure a pre defined number of cameras and provides training to the user of the system for the configuration of the reminder of the cameras. Ans48. Yes, integration will require effort from both parties. It certainly takes more time and effort to make a tight and smooth integration. Many 3rd parties may not see it is necessary to spend time to do a deep integration. When alarm happens iomniscient will send the XML alarm info over, many VMS manufacturers chose to display only text message on their screen as it is easier to do. However customer would like to see with the red bounding box but this will require a lot more effort to do. Ans49. Both systems have the same architecture and same frame work they are designed to have the tight integration right from the beginning. Company has spent tremendous effort to ensure we have stable connectivity between the two systems.
