3 Internationalisation is one of TUB main action fields Networking with Universities and Colleges Around the World Education and research at the TU Berlin profits greatly from our intensive exchange programs with international partners. Renowned partner universities are linked with the TU Berlin by a number of official cooperation agreements. These agreements profit from the many years of direct cooperation between individual TU Berlin scientists and their colleagues around the world International Cooperation in Science Prior to concluding a cooperation agreement between universities, scientists from both universities need to have already developed a good basis for cooperation. Todays focus: Student Exchange Programs The number of TU students studying abroad has increased significantly in the recent past Dual Degree Programs The double degree programs represent a special opportunity for our students to study abroad; students can obtain joints degrees from the TU and from participating partner universities/colleges abroad 3

4 Turkish-German University The Turkish-German University (Türk-Alman Üniversitesi) is a public university in Beykoz Istanbul. This university is founded on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement between Turkey and Germany. The aim is to connect the best qualities of Turkish and German university traditions in research and teaching. Official opening: Concept of the Turkish-German University: Study programs for Bachelor, Master and PhD. Mid-term study places. Study language in German, Turkish and English. Cooperation with German-Turkish enterprises. First Bachelor study programs: law, business administration, mechatronics system engineering, industrial engineering 4

5 Turkish-German University Excellent German and Turkish scientists are developing German- and Turkish-language study programs. German language, study and practice stays in Germany and a considerable proportion of German teaching staff are important elements of the attractiveness of the Turkish-German University. Bilateral exchange of professional know-how between the Turkish-German University and the German partner-universities guarantee high quality standards in research and teaching. A close cooperation with the industry of both countries enable reciprocal transfer between theory and practice. Excellence performance in research and teaching allow to establish the Turkish-German University in competition with the best Turkish universities. 6 TU Campus Campus El Gouna Technische Universität Berlin established a satellite campus in Egypt to act as a scientific and academic field office. The research Campus El Gouna is a scientific field office of Technische Universität Berlin in Egypt in the heart of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. It provides a fully equipped environment for studying, research and development as well as for cultural and scientific events.. TU Berlin has established three new Master s degree programs in Energy Engineering, Urban Development, and Water Engineering as pilot programs at the new campus. The broad range of different activities makes TU Berlin Campus El Gouna a scientific and cultural hub between Europe and the MENA region. 6
