4 Introduction This report provides an overview of Queensland s trade relationship with Thailand. Merchandise exports In p (preliminary as at June 2016), Queensland s merchandise exports to Thailand were valued at $585.0 million, representing 1.2 per cent of Queensland s total merchandise exports and 16.4 per cent of Australia s total merchandise exports to Thailand. Major export items included Non-ferrous metals ($255.8 million), Coal, coke and briquettes ($73.8 million), Meat and meat preparations ($41.3 million), Fertilisers (excl. crude) ($28.8 million) and Textile fibres and their wastes ($27.7 million). Queensland s merchandise exports to Thailand grew by 14.0 per cent or $71.8 million, from $513.1 million in to $585.0 million in p. Queensland s merchandise exports to Thailand declined by 5.8 per cent or $35.7 million, from $620.7 million in to $585.0 million in p. 6 Merchandise imports In p (preliminary as at June 2016), Queensland s merchandise imports from Thailand were valued at $2,737.2 million, representing 7.6 per cent of Queensland s total merchandise imports and 18.8 per cent of Australia s total merchandise imports from Thailand. Major import items included Road vehicles (incl. air-cushion vehicles) ($1,783.8 million), General industrial machinery nes ($173.1 million), Combined confidential items ($108.9 million), Petroleum, petroleum products and related materials ($98.8 million) and Electrical machinery, apparatus, appliances, parts ($83.4 million). Queensland s merchandise imports from Thailand grew by 22.7 per cent or $506.6 million, from $2,230.6 million in to $2,737.2 million in p. Queensland s merchandise imports from Thailand grew by 77.1 per cent or $1,191.8 million, from $1,545.3 million in to $2,737.2 million in p. 8 Service trade Australia's services exports to Thailand grew by 15.5 per cent or $134 million, from $862 million in 2011 to $996 million in Australia's services imports from Thailand declined by 19.0 per cent or $438 million for the same period to a total of $1,868 million.
