Minors Note: With approval of the Associate Director of Programs, a student can use 8 credits of an approved minor to fulfill the Social Science, Humanities, or General Electives. Minors can consist of units. If a minor is declared, the student will graduate with more than 128 units. Study Abroad: A student can study abroad as early as the second semester sophomore year. The student must declare this interest during the advising period for the first semester sophomore classes. Note that the ability to study abroad is dependent on approval from the NYU Global Programs office. Study Abroad requires an application process. Internship Note: Internship I All students must complete 600 hours of supervised internship experience. Internship I requires 300 hours for one (1) unit. Therefore, each student will take Internship I twice as part of their undergraduate program. One unit = 300 hours one semester One unit = 150 hours one semester followed by another internship of 150 hours in the consecutive semester (fall/spring; spring/summer, summer/fall and spring/fall) at a different company/organization. Students using this format will receive a grade of an Incomplete, until the final 150 hours are completed the following semester. A student cannot complete internship hours and then register for the course in a different semester. The Internship opportunity must be approved and monitored to its completion by the Faculty Advisor. There is no classroom time associated with the course. All related course work is submitted online. This course is a requirement for completion of the degree requirement. Internship II is an elective. The requirements are stated in the course description booklet. The format for completion is the same as Internship I. Internship II has a 900 hour requirement that can be completed in increments of 0 3 units.
