The general requirements to be satisfied by contractors applying for inclusion in the District List are appended below: (a) at least one member of the resident top management of the company (i.e. chairman, director, general manager, etc.) must have at least one year s local experience in managing a construction firm; (b) at least one technical staff of the company must have the following qualifications: (i) a Higher ertificate in ivil Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic / Polytechnic University or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical Institute / ollege or equivalent and one year s local working experience in minor works projects; or (ii) a ertificate in ivil Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic / Polytechnic University or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical Institute / ollege or equivalent and two years local working experience in minor works projects; or (iii) at least five years local working experience in minor works projects;

7 (c) the employed capital and working capital of the company must not be less than $200,000 respectively; (d) the company must have completed works projects with a total value not less than $500,000 in the past three years; (e) the company must not have any court convictions in the past twelve months for contravention of site safety legislation or the Employment Ordinance or for employment of illegal workers; and (f) the company has not suffered significant loss in the past two years. The general requirements to be satisfied by a contractor applying for inclusion in the Headquarters List are appended below: (a) he is currently of confirmed status on the District List of HAD Approved ontractors; (b) he has satisfactorily completed at least five works projects for HAD as a District List contractor in the past three years with at least one project costing more than $0.5 million; (c) he has performed satisfactorily in all works projects for HAD as a District List contractor in the past 12 months; (d) he has a minimum level of both working capital and employed capital of $800,000; (e) he has not suffered significant financial loss in the past three years; (f) he has no conviction record under section 17I and 38A of the Immigration Ordinance (ap.115) for employing illegal workers or having illegal workers on any site under the contractor's control in the past 12 months; (g) he has no conviction record under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (ap. 59) for site safety in the past 12 months; and (h) he has no conviction record under the Employment Ordinance in the past 12 months.
