COLLEGE CONTACT LIST SAMPLE On the next page you will find a sample college contact list. Once you begin making contact with colleges, you will need some way to track your communications. This list is a simple way to keep track of the colleges you have contacted, and the coaches you have mailed your information to. I suggest that you also include the college s address on this list. This will save you the trouble of finding the address each time you get ready to write the coach. COLLEGE CONTACT LIST College/University Date Mailed Coach Contacted COACH FOLLOW UP SHEET SAMPLE The next page is a very special one. This sheet is where you track communications with the coaches/colleges who have started making contact with you. Once this happens, you want to make sure you stay on top of the communication process. The last thing you want is to have a coach waiting for a response from you, and you simply forget to respond. This can happen once you start having multiple colleges contacting you frequently.

8 SAMPLE UPDATE LETTER This last page is a sample coach update letter. Once coaches show an interest in you, you will want to keep the communication lines open. This letter should be used but not over used. You don t want to write the coach so often that you begin to annoy him or her. Send important updates, but don t write the coach just to be writing them. Keep in mind, they want to hear from you, but they are busy people! SAMPLE UPDATE LETTER 1 November 2007 Dear Coach, I wanted to get an important post season update to you. I just completed my junior season at High School. It was a very successful season for our team as we were regular season co champions and tournament champions.
