7 Worksheet 5 Identifying the Subject of a Verb Read the text then highlight the verbs in one colour and the subjects in another. Before the year 1863, football clubs were popular in ngland and Wales. Teams found it difficult to play against each other because they each had their own rules. In 1863 the Football Association was formed. The Football Association decided on the rules of football so everyone played the same ones. Football clubs became very popular.
