Simile 2. Metaphor 3. Personification 4. Onomatopoeia 5. Symbol In Victor Hernadez Cruz poem Los New Yorks, an example of can be found in line ; re-write the lines in a quote. This means.
SAMPLE In Victor Hernadez Cruz poem Los New Yorks, an example of a simile can be found in lines 1-2 ; In the news that sails through the air / like the shaking seeds of maracas. This means the news sounds like a maraca and moves fast bouncing from one source to another. An example of an onomatopoeia can be found
Los New Yorks In Victor Hernadez Cruz poem Los New Yorks, an example of a simile can be found in lines 1-2 ; In the news that sails through the air / like the shaking seeds of maracas. This means the news sounds like a maraca and moves fast bouncing from one source to another. An example of an onomatopoeia can be found in lines 17; the roaring of the trains. This means the train s sound is loud and the image created reminds the reader of a lion. An example of a metaphor can be found also in lines 17-19; the roaring of the trains is a fast / guaguanco / dance of the ages. This means that the train moves fast and is loud, and the speaker is reminded of a dance from his home which is also fast and loud. An example of personification can be found in lines 11-12; [the bricks] so old/will move out by themselves. This means that since the bricks are old they are crumbling. The crumbling causes movement which makes the buildings appear to move. Movement like this is a human characteristic. An example of a symbol can be found in line 4 or the refrain; suena. This line means it echoes. The echoes are a symbol for the sounds and sights found in New York that remind the speaker of his/her home.
The Secret Heart Robert P. Tristram Coffin pg or The Wreck of the Hesperus Henry Wadsworth Longfellow pg Using the poem The Secret Heart or The Wreck of the Hesperus and the writing format seen below, write an analytical paragraph. Identify in the paragraph the following Poetry Elements: 1. Simile 2. Metaphor 3. Personification 4. Onomatopoeia 5. Symbol 6. Student Choice In poem, an example of can be found in line ; re-write the lines in a quote. This means.
The Secret Heart In Robert P. Tristram Coffin s poem The Secret Heart, there is no example of a simile. However, there are several metaphors. A metaphor can be found in line 5; Half in dreams, he saw his sire. This means the boy thinks that is father is a king or has qualities and the respect of a king. The speaker compares through a metaphor the father to a king. A symbol can be found in line 6; with his great hands full of fire.. This means the fire is a symbol for life and the love the father feels for his son. An example of personification can be found in line 18; to tender for the day to trace. This means the day was making a path or mark on the face. Days do make marks literally. An example of an onomatopoeia can be found in line 9; He held his palms each side the spark. This means when the father lit the match to see, you hear a spark made from the striking of the match.
The Wreck of the Hesperus In Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem The Wreck of the Hesperus, there is an example of a simile on line 12. kdhe k. This means thekjkthek thei i.
