3 Features and benefits UV (Ultraviolet) Cured Layer Middle PVC Backing What is luxury vinyl PLANK AND TILE FLOORING? Luxury vinyl plank and tile (thereafter LVP and LVT) flooring is built in two different ways: with Unilin Locking System (floating installation) or with a dry back (glued installation). LVP and LVT are coated with a wear layer unique on the market because it is formulated for Beaulieu to enhance its scratch and UV rays resistance and also to add anti-fungal, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties. Transparent Wear Layer Fiberglass (only for LVP with Unilin Locking System) PVC Decorative Film PVC Backing LVP and LVT are built of several layers: -The superior layer is a transparent wear layer, proprietary of Beaulieu, made of UV cured polyurethane to enhance stability and durability of the surface and to give the benefits mentioned above. -The second layer is a virgin PVC decorative film that accurately replicates other hard surfaces look such as solid hardwood, stone and ceramic. -The middle is made of virgin PVC, and fibreglass core only in LVP built with Unilin Locking System; helping LVP installed floating to keep its shape despite temperature changes. Our dry back products are manufactured to be installed using direct glue down application, and because of this, they are as stable as the floating products with a fibreglass core. There is no need for fibreglass to be used within direct glue down products; the virgin vinyl* and adhesive help stabilize the product so no issue will occur. Several laboratory tests were conducted to confirm this. *Virgin vinyl is an uncontaminated vinyl allowing it to be much more stable because it will not distort and abnormally expand and contract due to extreme cold or hot temperatures. -The last layer is a virgin PVC backing. Luxury vinyl combines the look and feel of nature s finest materials with advanced technology to create a stable surface. This flooring offers beneficial features such as water and stain resistance, enhanced durability for long-term use and cost effectiveness. Vinyl is not only a thermal insulator, reducing your home energy costs but it is also a sound insulator. 11 Care and maintenance In order to protect your floor and keep it looking like new, it is important to follow these instructions. The owner is responsible for providing a clear floor area to allow warranty repair work to be carried out without hindrance. 12 BLC Certification Customer health and satisfaction, product quality and sustainability are fundamental aspects of the Beaulieu Canada company vision. For each category of hard surface flooring, many tests are performed to ensure a strict quality control and to conform to industry regulation. A physical inspection is executed during the manufacturing process to verify the colour, the length, the width, etc. Each test is documented with detailed reports, photos and videos to guarantee accuracy. Beaulieu Canada is therefore confident that its products maintain high quality criteria. The majority of Beaulieu Canada hard surface flooring products will now respect this certification and will easily be recognisable by the BLC logo on the product box. Beaulieu Canada is one of the only flooring manufacturers and distributers to require these tests for its hard surface products.
