2 Friendship Week Fundraising Activities Roses, carnations or lollipops These items can be donated by corporate sponsors or local grocery stores and marked up 50%-100%. Take advance orders whenever possible using our Membership Toolkit online customizable forms.this also enables family members to order treats for their kids. Grab bags Make up small goody bags using corporate donations or items purchased from the dollar store. Students and family members can buy bags for $2 for themselves or as Friendship Week gifts. Host a Friendship Day Dance Sell tickets and give a discount if you bring a friend. This dance could be as casual or formal as you wish. Have refreshments, dancing and even a photo booth. Celebrate Friendship This could also be adapted to a Daddy/Daughter dance. Raffle A raffle can reach a large audience and is easy to put together. Make baskets of friendship-themed items then sell tickets for $1. Check state laws regarding raffles first.

3 Incorporating Community Service into Friendship Week Extend the themes of Friendship Week beyond the school with these great ways to reach out to the community Host a canned food drive for the local food pantry Host an evening of heart-healthy games and activities in the gym. Collect donations at the door Donate books to local libraries or BooksForAfrica.org Decorate placemats for MealsOnWheels.org Collect gently used stuffed animals and donate to local fire and police stations to give to children in an emergency Host an event where students can make cards or crafts to give to their parents or other special people in their lives during Friendship Week. Create a display of love letters to teachers, faculty and staff. Let them know how much you appreciate all that they do for you.

4 Friendship Party Ideas Make a Friendship Snack Mix Have a Minute-to-Win-it competition using conversation hearts and chopsticks Play a game of Human Knot 6-8 students stand in a circle and grab hands across from them. They practice teamwork to get untangled Pass a heart around for each child and have others write kind words about that child. Play Hugs and Kisses just like Simon Says, the caller yells out hugs and the kids make a circle with their arms, kisses and the kids make an X with their arms. The caller can call out other things to trick their friends. Last person in becomes the next caller. Host a Friendship Week with a different theme everyday. (see following page for ideas)

5 February Tuesday: All For One and One For All Day Each grade level will wear the same color We can all come together as a team, and for a cause, but each person still has their own special talents Show your team and friendship spirit by wearing the same color in your grade level. K: pink/gray 1st: yellow 2nd: white 3rd: green 4th: orange 5th: blue Monday: Mix It Up Day Don t worry about matching today. Put together anything and wear it Each person has something that they contribute to a friendship. Let s learn to appreciate and respect the differences in people. Try to build and make new friendships today Wednesday: Camo Day Wear camouflage, any color Huffman Hawks be on the look-out for your classmates hidden or special qualities. You might discover something interesting that you had not noticed and make a new friend Friendship Week at Huffman Elementary Sponsored by the Huffman PTA Thursday: Random Acts of Kindness Day Be extra kind to your classmates and teachers today. Help hold open a door, compliment a classmate, etc. Keep track of how many times you were kind to someone else today. Be nice to your siblings and parents, too Friday: Wear Red / Make Someone Smile Day It is amazing how receiving a smile from someone can change a mood from ho-hum to happy. Wear read, have fun at your class Friendship Party and keep smiling
