26 Reliability of a roofing System To ensure that the roof will meet the client s requirements and perform as required throughout its service life, you need: A well designed (new) roofing systemwith all components fit for purpose In case of renovation the factors to take account of is even more variable (slope, leakage, detailing); A registered and monitored installation contractor; Good detailing appropriate to the conditions; Technical backup during the design process; On site support, including inspections and quality checks; Guarantees of both product and workmanship; This needs continuity of a good labour force, which can be influenced by the choice of insulation materials that make the job easier and more pleasant 26
