2 FOOD Food will be judged according to texture, color, appearance, and difficulty of recipe. No entry that requires refrigeration will be judged. Chess and Buttermilk pies are not accepted. Margarine is acceptable. All entries should be entirely from scratch except creative cakes, cookie mixes and bread mixes, all of which contain a mix; decorated cake may be from scratch or mix. All food entries are to be on plates or in containers and covered with either a clear lid, plastic wrap, or cellophane. For display, candy and cookies should have at least one dozen; bread should have at least one loaf. ONE copy of the recipe must be attached on 8.5 x 11 paper. Recipes may be hand written or typed and use front and back or more than one page. Exhibitor's name should not appear on the recipe card (or be inferred in the title of the recipe; ie, Aunt Hattie Mengwasser's Sunday Chocolate Cake ) Classes 4, 5, 6 & 7: All icing, frosting, or glazing must be made from scratch. Class 19 22: Must present 1 pint size jar of properly sealed product for judging. Jars must have brand name on the side of the jar (Kerr, Mason, Ball, etc). Mayonnaise jars and the like will be disqualified. Recipe must reflect processing and safe sealing. See attached fact sheet. No refrigeration products allowed. 1. 3 Fabric & Textiles Construction Items will be judged according to accuracy of cutting, quality of work as it contributes to the professional look considering the following: machine work, finishing techniques, coordination of fabric to pattern, appropriateness of buttons, zippers, and appliqué to the pattern and fabric, and degree of difficulty. Garments must be clean and pressed. Soiled garments will be disqualified. All items of major construction must be machine stitched. If applicable, place clothing on a hanger. 24. Apron or Vest 25.
