4 Collection Scope and Content Summary This collection contains 50 World War II political posters from the United States. The posters are considered to be propaganda, with messages encouraging participation in the war effort. The poster's intended audiences range from young men, expected to enlist in the war effort, to women and children, expected to assist the war from the homefront. Seven of the posters have been removed for display in Milbank Hall, at Barnard College. Collection Arrangement Posters are arranged in two flat files, and inventoried at the item level.
