Are they like us? Using our senses we will explore the zoo to uncover the creatures that live there Linked to: Animals, including humans Unit Plant Detectives Be a plant detective and use your skills of observation to help you learn and identify common plants and trees in this interactive session Mad about Maps Learn how to use maps to find your way around Test your skills with our treasure hunt natural materials and learn about famous artists such as Andy Goldsworthy Year 2 Who eats who? Using our special teaching gardens to do investigations, students learn about simple food chains in the local environment Heath beasts Learn about how creatures are suited to their habitats using our special teaching gardens to do investigations Mad about Maps Learn how to use maps to find your way around Test your skills with our treasure hunt Fun day and specialist programmes Survivors in the Wild KS1 & KS2 Learn what it takes to survive in the wild and put your skills to the test through shelter building, orienteering and other challenges All programmes can be taught at Parliament Hill, the Old Orchard or Golders Hill Park

This session explores how pollination works and its role in the creation of new seeds through investigations, drama and games Heath beneath our feet Find out about the rocks and soils that make up the ground we walk on in this highly interactive session Linked to: Rocks Unit natural materials and learn about famous artists such as Andy Goldsworthy Stone Age Survivors Chart the development of human civilisation from the stone age through to the iron age, and then have a go at survival skills used in the early Palaeolithic Linked to: History Year 4 Classify that! Learn to be a classification specialist in this hands on adventure into invertebrate classification using real life creatures! Guess who at the zoo Find out what makes a mammal a mammal and a bird a bird in this interactive session at the zoo Tours of the zoo, games and challenges put learning to the test Year 5 It s a bug s life Delve into the complicated lives of insects in this session about their lifecycles focusing on metamorphosis, and use real life creatures! The Great Green Plant Adventure This session goes in depth to learn how a plant makes a seed from pollination to fertilisation Practical activities, role play and games bring the session alive Following our Footprints Explore how humans change the Heath in various ways Investigate signs of climate change and use the scientific method to compare the health of 2 ponds Linked to: Human & Physical Geography Year 6 Evolution & Adaptation How did the woodlouse come to live in the woodland? Students answer the question by entering into the imaginary world of wibbly wobblers to understand the processes of adaptation leading to evolution in this interactive session Linked to: Evolution and Inheritance Following our Footprints Explore how humans change the Heath in various ways Investigate signs of climate change and use the scientific method to compare the health of 2 ponds Linked to: Human & Physical Geography
