Investing in the competence of control function personnel has become a key focus for banks globally. Moody s Analytics has joined forces with award-winning experts from audit and law enforcement to offer a unique professional development programme to help banks identify and mitigate their exposure to risk. Conducting the Audit Engagement Note-Taking and Recording Audit Meetings Introduction to Credibility Assessment Effective Audit Conversations Detecting Deception Specialist Interviewing Fraud Investigation Foundation Intermediate Specialist Presenting Conclusions Report Writing Presenting Audit Findings Investigative Audit is a unique professional development programme in the form of a three-tiered learning pathway with courses corresponding to each stage of an audit engagement. The programme aligns with The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Professional Practices Framework and Competencies, and teaches practical tools and techniques that are based on empirically proven models. Upon completion of this programme, organisations will: Increase productivity and efficiency of audit engagements Achieve consistency of professional audit practice and conduct of Internal Auditors (IAs) Increase stakeholder confidence in the internal audit function and the IA s effectiveness Assure quality and competence standards Managing the IA Function Managing Audit Teams Impact of Banking Regulation Strategic Investigation, Interview Management, and Quality Assurance THE INTERNAL AUDITOR AS A BUSINESS PARTNER This classroom-based course provides internal auditors with the necessary skills to develop and manage key relationships within their firm. In order to be viewed as business partners, auditors must learn to analyse the business, understand the context in which the business functions and develop appropriate business-focused solutions designed to influence and drive action. The course emphasises the importance of understanding personal and peer working styles and adapting their approach to these styles to improve overall effectiveness. INVESTIGATIVE INTERVIEWING This two-day course is aimed at newly qualified internal auditors with little practical experience of conducting audit fieldwork. The course focuses on the essential skills and awareness needed to perform the audit role and build credibility. Founded upon the PEACE model of interviewing, participants will become equipped with knowledge of investigative principles, including how to plan and prepare for meetings. Participants will also learn how to effectively manage audit conversations, add value to the business and prevent reputational damage whilst reducing risk. TECHNICAL RISK, BANKING AND FINANCIAL MARKETS COURSES This collection of courses includes a variety of topics ranging from credit, banking and risk management and are offered for groups at various levels. These courses guide participants through the end-to-end process of analysing creditworthiness and understanding the wider risk picture. Specifically, participants learn in-depth product analysis, structuring, documentation and negotiation skills. MANAGING AUDIT STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS This two-day programme offers tools and develops behavioural skills needed for managing relationships with stakeholders including co-auditors, senior managers, auditees and subject matter experts. Participants will learn stakeholder mapping and how to use this map to inform frequency, content and style of communication for greater efficacy. Role play is used extensively to train participants influencing skills. INTEGRATED RISK MANAGEMENT This seminar covers various topics in risk management including risk appetite, regulations, exposure and measurement. Upon completion, participants will understand how to foster effective collaboration among all key stakeholders in the risk management process. Participants will also learn how to effectively articulate the meaning of and measurements associated with the various risks to which banks are exposed (including the use of Risk-Adjusted Return On Capital, or RAROC). FRAUD AND FINANCIAL CRIME This course provides delegates with the practical tools needed to identify, investigate and remediate fraud affecting their organisation from both internal and external sources. The immersive interactive sessions will focus on the core skills required to undertake a focused and timely investigation, and will provide delegates with a framework 2 MOODY'S ANALYTICS TRAINING & CERTIFICATION 3
3 Conducting the Audit Engagement Courses to successfully implement their investigative strategy. Delivered through a three dimensional multi-media scenario, delegates will practice the investigative mind-set required to successfully undertake investigations in the workplace. CYBERSECURITY To protect an organisation's information and information systems against cyber-attacks, it is necessary to determine the who, why and how of the attack. This course provides an overview of cybersecurity, reviews types of threats (internal/external) and resulting actions (intentional vs. unintentional). Participants will learn how to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and targets through threat profiling so as to determine if their business is at risk. They will also learn about payment card industry standards, typologies and fraud, and identify non-face-to-face card crime and the relevant security features of numerous payment cards. NOTE-TAKING AND RECORDING AUDIT MEETINGS During any investigative interview the interviewer is expected to gather every detail. Success in collecting details is typically correlated to the experience and knowledge of the individual interviewer. For situations in which audio and/or visual recording of interviews are not viable options, note-taking becomes the key recordkeeping method. This course delivers a proven methodology for capturing the level of detail needed for a successful investigation (differentiating between information, evidential and investigative detail). INTRODUCTION TO CREDIBILITY ASSESSMENT Individuals may encounter deceptive communications in many situations (e.g., interviews, negotiations, reports), so the ability to evaluate credibility is a key audit skill. This course equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to recognise and understand behaviours that are associated with honesty and deception, in order to aid Senior Auditors, Audit Engagement Managers and Managers of Audit teams For Auditors who conduct the majority of fieldwork Internal Auditors with less than 2 years experience in the role Senior Auditor/Manager Level Audit Practioner Level Core Skills Level Senior Auditors, Audit Engagement Managers and Managers of Audit teams For Auditors who conduct the majority of fieldwork Internal Auditors with less than 2 years experience in the role Senior Auditor/Manager Level Audit Practioner Level Core Skills Level Senior Auditors, Audit Engagement Managers and Managers of Audit teams For Auditors who conduct the majority of fieldwork Internal Auditors with less than 2 years experience in the role Senior Auditor/Manager Level Audit Practioner Level Core Skills Level» Audit Methodology, Risk Typology, Control» Technical Risk, Banking and Financial Markets Courses» Bank Regulation Framework» The Auditor as Business Partner» Investigative Interviewing» Report Writing» Managing Audit Stakeholder Relationships» Technical Risk, Banking and Financial Markets Courses» Integrated Risk Management» Note-Taking and Recording Audit Meetings» Effective Audit Conversations» Introduction to Credibility Assessment» Managing the Audit Team» Detecting Deception» Presenting Audit Findings» Fraud Investigation» Forensic Linguistics» Optional Specialist Courses» Executive Coaching 4 MOODY'S ANALYTICS TRAINING & CERTIFICATION 5
