1 200 FFA Banquet Script p.m. Welcome ( ) Good evening fellow FFA members and guests. I would like to thank everyone for coming tonight. Welcome to the 200 FFA Banquet. This evening we will be recognizing FFA members, teachers, FFA alumni and community members for their efforts in supporting the FFA Chapter. Just before we eat, we would like to invite to lead us in the invocation. Please welcome to the podium. Invocation ( ) Please assume an attitude of prayer. Dear heavenly father, thank you for getting us all here safely tonight. Thank you for letting us join together for friendship and fellowship. We appreciate the support you have given us throughout this year as we have traveled together, competed in contests, worked to obtain our goals and strengthened our abilities as leaders. Please be with us and our families and friends as we venture into a new year of learning and service. Bless this food that has been grown and prepared for us so that we may better serve you. 2 Outstanding Juniors- ( ) At the FFA State Convention in March, the following students were presented with their outstanding junior awards. Each member received a recognition certificate at the convention. As I call your name will you please stand. It is your hard work and dedication to the FFA that have resulted in this honor. Congratulations! We wish you much luck and success as you work toward receiving your State Degree! State Degree- ( ) Also at the FFA State Convention in East Lansing, members received their State Degree. These are members who As I call your name, please stand and be recognized for this great accomplishment! Again congratulation and we wish you much success in the future! Leadership contest results- ( ) This year we had many members participate in leadership contests. Participants worked hard and it showed! As I call your name, can you please stand and be recognized. At district competitions, At regional competitions, 2

3 Let s give them all another round of applause for their hard work! State convention- ( ) FFA members traveled to MSU for the State Convention this year to receive awards, participate in contests and to represent Vicksburg as state delegates., please come forward. As convention delegates, traveled to the capital to learn about the legislative process. They also voted on important FFA issues and helped to elect the new state FFA officers. Thank you to for taking on this important leadership role. (Applause) At the State convention we had students participate in leadership contests. (Name, Placing and description of event). Other State Convention Recognition Special awards ( ) Parent Recognition ( ) Would the senior officers please escort their parents to the front? This year has been really busy, and we were all constantly on the go. We would all just like to take the time now - in case we ve forgotten- to say thank you to all of the FFA parents for all that you ve done. (Parent recognition) Would all parents of FFA members here tonight please stand, and could we give them all a round of applause to thank them. ********** Slide Show ( ) This year was busy with a lot of activities. Our chapter attended many FFA functions, competed in contests, took several trips, and played together all year round. Here, to showcase our efforts and our fun, we have put together a year in review slide show We hope you enjoy! 3

4 Installation of Officers ( ) if the newly elected officers could join me on my right, we will begin the installation. President: to :, as president-elect, you have been selected by your fellow members to be the leader of our chapter for the coming year. You are therefore responsible for guiding our chapter in all its worthy undertakings. May you work intelligently and seriously to fulfill the responsibilities of your office. Vice President: to :, as vice president-elect, your record of accomplishment indicates you have those qualities of leadership which we should all possess. You are to assist the president in directing the work of our chapter, preside over meetings in his/her absence and keep all committees working effectively. Secretary: to :, as secretary-elect, you have been chosen to keep accurate minutes of our meetings and to carry on the chapter correspondence. You should provide the chapter with the order of business and committee assignments for each meeting. You will also keep a list of members, a record of degrees awarded, and have custody of the constitution and bylaws. Treasurer: to :, as treasurer elect, you have been placed in a position of trust. Your duties require you to keep an accurate record of receipts and disbursements, and to provide regular financial reports. It is also your responsibility to assist in developing the chapter budget and maintaining sound financial practices. Reporter: to :, as reporter-elect, your duty is to inform the public about the FFA. You are expected to work closely with the news media, including state and national FFA publications. You should keep a record of photographs and articles published concerning the FFA and its members, and be responsible for compiling our FFA history. 4

5 Sentential: to :, as sentinel-elect, your duties include welcoming our friends, caring for the meeting rooms and FFA equipment, and providing for the comfort of our members and guests. It is also your duty to assist in conducting meetings and ceremonies. President: ( ) It is an honor to be an officer in the FFA. From time to time during the year, you may encounter difficult problems, but through cooperation, hard work and dedication, you will succeed and the FFA will prosper. Do each of you accept the responsibilities of your office and will you do your best to uphold the ideals and principles of the FFA? If so, answer We do. (New officers in unison we do ) I now declare each of you properly and duly installed in the respective office to which you were elected. May your year of service be marked by integrity, dedication, and a cooperative spirit. Seek harmony among your fellow officers and set high standards of leadership for all chapter members.
