2 INDEPENDENT AUDITOR S REPORT (Free translation) To the founder and Board of Trustees of Csodalámpa Óhaj-Sóhaj Kívánságteljesítő Alapítvány We have audited the accompanying simplified financial statements of Csodalámpa Óhaj-Sóhaj Kívánságteljesítő Alapítvány (the Foundation under review) for 201, which comprise the balance sheet as at 1 December 201 (showing a balance sheet total of THUF 70,92 and a profit of THUF 1,44), the related profit and loss account for the year then ended, and the notes to the financial statements including other explanatory information and the public-benefit supplement. Management s responsibility for the simplified financial statements The management is responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of the simplified financial statements in accordance with the provisions of the Accounting Act and Act CLXXV of 2011 (on the right of association, public benefit status, and the operation and funding of civil society organisations); Government Decree No. 0/2011 (XII. 0.) (on matters concerning the operation of civil society organisations, the collection of donations, and public benefit activities); and Government Decree No. 224/2000 (XII. 19.) (on the special reporting and bookkeeping obligations of other organisations as specified in the Accounting Act); and for such internal controls as the management deems necessary to enable the preparation of simplified financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. Auditor s responsibility Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these simplified financial statements based on our audit. We conducted our audit in accordance with the Hungarian Standards on Auditing and the applicable laws and regulations in force in Hungary. Those standards require that we comply with ethical requirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance whether the simplified financial statements are free from material misstatement. An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the simplified financial statements. The procedures selected depend on the auditor s judgement, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the simplified financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the Foundation s preparation and fair presentation of the simplified financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the Foundation s internal control. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by the management, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the simplified financial statements. We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our audit opinion. 3 Opinion In our opinion, the accompanying simplified financial statements give a true and fair view of the equity and financial position of Csodalámpa Óhaj-Sóhaj Kívánságteljesítő Alapítvány as of 1 December 201 and the financial position for the year then ended, in accordance with the Accounting Act, Act CLXXV of 2011, and Government Decrees No. 0/2011 (XII. 0.) and No. 224/2000 (XII. 19.). Other matters We draw attention to the fact that the accompanying financial statements have been issued for consideration by the forthcoming meeting of the Board of Trustees for decision-making purposes and, as such, do not reflect the impact, if any, of the resolutions to be adopted at that meeting. Our opinion is not qualified in respect of this matter. Other reporting requirements regarding the public-benefit supplement We have examined the accompanying public-benefit supplement of Csodalámpa Óhaj-Sóhaj Kívánságteljesítő Alapítvány (the Foundation under review) for 201. The management is responsible for the preparation of the public-benefit supplement in accordance with Act CLXXV of 2011 and Government Decree No. 0/2011 (XII. 0.). Our responsibility is to assess whether the accounting information disclosed in the public-benefit supplement is consistent with that included in the simplified financial statements. Our work in respect of the public-benefit supplement was limited to checking it within the aforementioned scope and did not include a review of any information other than that drawn from the Company s audited accounting records. Introduction of the main goal and public benefit activities made in this year. From 200 until 1 December 201 we managed to fulfill 2224 wishes, of which 27 were in 201 alone.the wishes can be categorized into four groups: receive something (e.g.: driving licence, object), travel somewhere (e.g.: sightseeing), do something (e.g.: drive a car) or meet somebody. The Csodalámpa always fulfills children's personal wishes. For example games, toys, diving in the Adriatic Sea, meeting Judit Hernádi, or even meeting the members of the AUDI-ETO women's handball team of Győr (fulfilled in 201). Based on feedback received from doctors, the children and their parents, the joy of having their wishes fulfilled made the children feel better and contributed greatly to their physical and psychological recovery. As far as we know, 90% of the Csodalámpa children are alive and well today. In June 201 we submitted our articles of association (amended according to the new Civil Code) to the Metropolitan Court of Budapest. Based on the Court s decision, the Csodalámpa Foundation has retained its classification under the new rules as a publicbenefit organisation.. Introduction of the public benefit activities.1. The children were from all counties of Hungary. We celebrated the th anniversary of Csodalámpa and the fulfillment ot the 2000th wish. During this th anniversary meeting, the achievements were presented and supporters thanked. With the ongoing support of a book-dealer supporter, we continued to operate our Csodalámpa Book corners, in this way giving little children in hospitals an alternative to watching TV. We continued our "school" projects: students from the Eötvös József High School regularly took part in the a.m. fundraising events organized by AISB, and students from the Budapest Thomas Mann School organized a charity cake sale event in support of the Csodalampa children. If you inspect the type of wishes granted you can see that "to get something" is still the most popular but "to do something" became more popular over the last year. This is explained by the number of wishes involving an "experience" such as diving in the sea, visiting a One-Direction concert, getting a driving license or watching a football match in Manchester. It is still a big hit, especially among girls, to travelito Disneyland where they can get the experience of a lifetime, and someone wanted to see the monuments of London. Among the material wishes you can find garden playground, LCd television, Razer headset,etc. The most popular wishes, especially among girls, included a trip to Disneyland, which offers children an unforgettable experience in the company of Mickey Mouse and friends; another wish was a sightseeing tour of London. HUF) on the core activities (fullfillment of wishes) and three employees were paid from this support. From this amount we bought electronics, entertainment and computing devices, games. Furthermore, we organized meetings with famous people whom the children wanted to meet, and we financed events as well. Introduction of the main activities and programs conducted in the business year. From 200 til we managed to fulfill 2224 wishes, including 27 in 201. If you inspect the type of wishes granted you can see that "to get something" was still popular, but children could also meet famous paople or visit a foreign country. With the ongoing support of Libri Konyvkeresedelmi Kft, we continued to operate our Csodalampa-Libri Book corners. In the meantime, with their support, we were able to replace worn books with new ones. In line with our strategy, we further expanded the student youth participation in Csodalámpa's activity: as a regular event we must mention the th Walk the Wish - a sponsored walk - organised by the AISB (American International School of Budapest) and Budapest Thomas Mann School organized a similar event. 14 CSODALAMPA PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT AND ANNUAL REPORT on the activities of the CSODALAMPA Wish Granting Foundation in the year 201 based upon law 2011.CLXXV. 2.. Introduction The CSODALAMPA (Magic Lamp) Foundation was founded in 200, with the first ever wish being granted in November of that year. The mission of the Foundation is to grant one wish to any child, aged between and 1, who suffers from a life-threatening illness. Csodalampa was created in the belief that a sudden positive experience, such as granting an impossible wish, can give strength to win the battle against the illness, and can break up the sometimes yearlong bitter routine of painful treatments for children and their parents alike. Today, with over 2,00 wishes granted, that belief has certainly been endorsed, as doctors, parents and children confirm every day. Shortly after the establishment of the Foundation, we decided as a long term goal to build Csodalampa into a recognized brand. It appears that we are heading in the right direction: in 2012 we were honoured for our work with the Superbrands Special Award and in early 201 we also received a Special Award For The Children by MagyarBrands. We hope that with your continuing support we will be able bring happiness to ever more children over the following years. There is just one thing that would make us happier: if we could close down the Foundation due to a complete absence of seriously ill children. ACTIVITIES OF THE FOUNDATION IN THE YEAR 201 Under court order number.pk.0.49./200/1 of 11 October 201, the Court of Budapest accepts under the provisions of law CLXXV of 2011 the revision to the articles of incorporation and recognizes Csodalampa Foundation as a public benefit organization. 1.1 Target group and achievements of the Foundation The Foundation grants wishes to children aged between and 1 years of age who suffer from a lifethreatening illness. The wish may be requested by the child s parents or guardian, treating physician, a Csodalampa volunteer or may be directly requested by the child. Every sick child may have one wish, something that is dearest to his or her heart. Csodalampa does not offer a pre-set wish-menu. Instead, we always try to ascertain exactly what the child truly desires and then fulfill that wish with the help of our sponsors and volunteers. The sole mission of Csodalampa is to fulfill wishes: the joy caused by granting a wish has a psychologically rehabilitative effect on the children and their parents. In order for a wish request to be registered and accepted by Csodalampa, the child must fall into the required age group and the illness must be qualified as life-threatening by his or her treating physician. A further requirement before granting a wish is obtaining permission from the guardian and physician: this is needed in the context of certain wish fulfillments, where, for example, fitness to travel or to be part of a crowd at a rock concert or soccer match needs to be assessed and to ensure required facilities are provided, such as having an ambulance or doctor present. The scope of illnesses that bring children under the mandate of Csodalampa is unfortunately very wide and there is no definitive list of illnesses that determines which child may benefit from Csodalampa Foundation s wish fulfillment mission. We make our decisions on accepting wishes based on the recommendations of medical experts.

17 4 To our knowledge, at any one time, there are approximately,000 children in Hungary who are eligible to be granted a wish by Csodalampa. 1.2 Types of granted wishes and their geographical distribution Types of granted wishes As in previous years, 201 was dominated by wishes relating to objects. Topping the list were toys (representing 7 wishes) and personal computing devices (representing 99 wishes) where used, refurbished laptops were provided by our sponsors.* Laptops are not only used for fun and games, but for studying and keeping in touch with the school, friends and family. Among the Meeting Somebody category of wishes, we are especially grateful to actress Judit Hernadi, rap star Tomi Fluor, as well as the AUDI-ETO women s handball team from Gyor and footballer Szabolcs Huszti for their kindness. Csodalampa also successfully arranged a trip to London for 1 year old Nora to see One Direction in concert. The Go Somewhere category of wishes included an interesting wish to visit the Mercedes Ingolstadt factory, the realization of which was assisted by members of the Deutsche Wirtschafts Klub Budapest. A first for Csodalampa was granting Csaba his wish to travel to Rovaniemi in Finland, where among many other night adventures, he met the real Santa Claus thanks to the help of the Hungarian Finnish Society and the Finnish Embassy. In the Do Something category of wishes, among the most unique was that of Matyas: thanks to the Hungarian army, his dream to drive military trucks and combat vehicles off-road whilst in uniform became a reality.

18 * The high demand for computers can be explained by the fact that Csodalampa children spend very long periods of time in hospital, often far from their homes, families and friends. Depending on their treatment, they may spend months in sterile rooms, cut off from the outside world. Among the fulfilled wishes were again visits to Eurodisney, Legoland, Paris and London as well as stroking dolphins at a dolphinarium in Italy and watching soccer matches at the home stadiums of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Within Hungary, the list of wishes continued to feature visits to the zoo, going on vacation, attending a Formula One race, and receiving various toys of all shapes and sizes as well as sports equipment and musical instruments. Appendix lists the wishes granted in Geographical distribution of granted wishes The 27 wishes were granted, as in previous years, to children living in Budapest and from every region of Hungary. Although previously Csodalampa granted wishes to foreign children receiving treatment in Hungary, no such wishes were fulfilled in 201. Distribution of wishes fulfilled during 201 by county 1. Other activities 1..1 Book corners, tale-telling afternoons With the ongoing support of Libri Konyvkeresedelmi Kft, we continued to operate our Csodalampa-Libri Book corners in several Budapest and regional children s hospitals. In the meantime, with their support, we were able to replace worn books with new ones. Nationwide in 14 hospitals over 11,000 books are available for children in-patients.

19 Based on feedback from hospital staff, our goal of providing hospitalized children with quality entertainment besides watching TV has been fully accomplished. The book corners have proven to be equally popular amongst children and their parents. With the help of Libri Kft. and our patrons, Peter Rudolf and Eszter Nagy-Kálóczy and their actor colleagues we organize Csodalámpa tale telling afternoons in pediatric clinics in Budapest, Debrecen, Szombathely and Pécs. These successful events are coordinated by our volunteers, the bright smiles on the face of the children and their parents prove that we give them strengths and they feel that they are important to us. we publish reports regularly of these occasions on our Facebook site: Events As a regular event we must mention the 7th Walk the Wish - a sponsored walk - organised by the AISB (American International School of Budapest). This year almost 00 students practically the whole school - their teachers and parents walked km-s for the benefit of Csodalampa children. From the donations wishes will be granted chosen and then fulfilled with the participation of the students of the school. In spring 201, thanks to the support of the Corinthia Hotel in Budapest, we were able to celebrate in style the years of achievements of the Foundation with our sponsors and supporters. During this th anniversary meeting, the achievements were presented and supporters thanked, accompanied by a stirring performance of songs from singer-songwriter and Csodalampa supporter Vera Jonas. Following this, the American International School of Budapest (AISB) was presented with a mosaic art-work comprising some 2,00 photos christened: Faces of the Future, in recognition of the school s long-standing support to Csodalampa.

20 7 In previous years, students from the Eötvös József High School regularly took part in the a.m. fundraising events organized by AISB. The events appealed so much to the Eötvös József pupils and school management that in September 201, the school held its very own fundraising walk on Margit Island. Close to 00 young people took part, with other secondary school students invited, and a wish was fulfilled while the students applauded. This Walk for the Wishes of ill children programme also continues in autumn of On several occasions during spring 201, the students of the Budapest Thomas Mann School organized a charity cake sale event in support of the Csodalampa children. On May 201, the school arranged its own Wunschschritte ( Walk the Wish ) event between Normafa and the chairlift and fulfilled a wish there and then: presenting 4 year old Eszter with a baby kitchen. In June, students, parents and teachers met with two ill children during the school s Sommerfest (Summer Festival) programme, where both Botond (picture) and Patrick had their dreams come true. On December , the tenth Santa Claus run was held in support of Csodalampa, whereby several somewhat under-dressed Santa Clauses ran around Budapest s inner-city streets watched by shivering and shocked by-passers. 1.. Other Civil Activities During the year, Csodalampa took part in the AmCham s non-profit organisations working group, aimed at producing a position paper outlining an international best practice guide to optimize the co-operation between the political, economic and civil spheres, improving the efficiency and sustainability of NGOs and on better meeting donor s expectations (including professionalization and transparency).
