How does your organization s multicultural outreach program embody Martin Luther King s Dream? We need content (articles, blog posts, etc.) for AMAT s website & social media channels. Content could showcase how The Dream is manifesting in organ & tissue donation efforts. Rose Parade in review: How was your OPO involved? Did it have a multicultural impact? AMAT Newsletter Important Dates/Organization Events and Workgroup Webinar Dates We need your input! 1 Feb Monday, 2/8/16 February is Black History Month: focus on African American trailblazers in the organ and tissue donation arena. o Let s highlight a transplant/ OPO professional going above and beyond to positively impact our African American communities. o Let s highlight a Donate Life Ambassador who is doing the same thing, going above and beyond. February is Valentine s Day: Let s showcase couples who have shared the gift of life/love/ organ donation. Zach H. to draft an article on ambassador couple/ living donor. Feb. 14 th is National Donor Day: Heart transplant recipients? 1 March Monday, 3/14/16 March is National Eye Donor Month. Let s focus on

Twitter corneal transplant inside and outside the U.S. o For those who attended the last AMAT conference, perhaps we can feature a Q&A with Executive Director of Eversight, Colin Ross? Colin discussed breaking down cultural barriers (outside the U.S.) to ensure people around the world have access to corneal transplants. o Do you work with ambassadors/ hospital professionals who have unique ties to corneal transplantation? OPO best practice: What are the racial disparities in transplantation? Can we interview Dr. Clive Callender as a follow up to his presentation at the 2015 conference? March 12 th is World Kidney Day: focus on kidney transplantation April is National Donate Life Month o What is your OPO planning? How will it impact our multicultural communities? o Let s highlight donation statistics that pertain to our multicultural communities. What are we doing to close the gap? o Blue and Green Day is April 17. Please generate content about activities you and your colleagues are planning. What s the goal?
