1 GHS A R T G A L L E R Y EXHIBITION 13 SPRING APRIL 2016 The focus of this exhibition is the award winning work from the 2016 Scholastic Art Awards Program of New Hampshire. A record number of works from GHS were recognized for excellence in a variety of the fourteen categories of competition. This year our students did particularly well in the categories of drawing, sculpture, mixed-media, ceramics and painting. A sculpture by Jaina Neri was selected as one of the twelve Best of Show pieces by the twenty-one judges, and all six senior portfolios were awarded a Gold Key, which placed them into national level competition. Senior Sydney Brey was awarded the New Hampshire Art Educators $1,000 scholarship for having the top ranked portfolio in the state. Her editorial cartoon also received the newly created Herb Block Cartoon Award at the state level, as the first place winner in that category. Following the award winning artwork, you will find six pages of outstanding artwork completed by students who are currently in art classes. The entire art department hopes that you will enjoy viewing the work of our students who have shown creativity and originality while meeting or exceeding the expectations of of course assignments.
