1 Year: GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND CERTIFICATE The Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law is a foundation law course suitable for those training to become registered patent agents in Singapore*, and for in-house IP advisors, IP-portfolio managers and licensing / technology transfer executives. This course is jointly organised by the IP Academy (Singapore) and the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. ADMISSION QUALIFICATION A good University degree. University students who will have completed their studies by the commencement of the course are also eligible to apply. 3 Year: GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW Modularisation Track To provide flexibility to students who may not be able to complete the programme within 1 year or are only interested to learn about certain modules of the programme, there are 2 alternative tracks available. CERTIFICATE Modularisation A (Mod A) Students are given 2 years and up to a maximum of 3 years to complete the programme The choice to select and register for up to 3 modules per year, with the exception that Special Topics would need to be taken as the last module. 6 ANNEX A Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS APPLICATION FORM Any omission of information required in the Application Form or supporting documents will render the application void. All supporting documents, if not in English, must be accompanied by copies of the English translated version. Application Forms should be returned with 1 passport-size photograph and must be accompanied with the application fee of S$42.80 (including GST). Please paste the photographs in the box provided in the Application Form. Any application forms submitted without the application fee of S$42.80 will not be processed and will be considered as void. Application fees are to be paid via Cash/Cheque. All cheques should be crossed and made payable to IP Academy. Kindly write the course title at the back of the cheque. REFEREE S REPORT A recommendation from one referee is required to support your application. The referee must be someone who has supervised you in the course of your work, preferably from your present employment. Please ask your referee to complete the Referee s Report Form Annex D. You should also request your referee to forward the form to you in a SEALED envelope with its flap bearing his/her signature across it. Please enclose these together with your Application. APPLICATION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTER The acknowledgement letter Annex E, with your name and address clearly printed or typed, should be returned with the completed Application Form. REQUIREMENT FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY TEST Applicants who graduated from Universities where English is not the main medium of instruction are required to demonstrate their English proficiency by means of TOEFL* / IELTS** test scores. The certified true copies of the test scores should be enclosed with your Application. *TOEFL is the abbreviation of the Test of English as a Foreign Language. **IELTS is the abbreviation of the International English Language Testing System.
