The ergonomic workplace 1

The ergonomic workplace Stand and sit, arms close to the body, monitor at the correct level, take breaks and stretch your legs. There is a lot to think about when ensuring your body holds up all day. One major step towards feeling better is ensuring that your computer workplace is ergonomically adapted. A centred mouse option, good lighting, an armrest for support. Small efforts made in time, like switching a keyboard and/or mouse, keep up productivity and save money, and most important of all, reduce personal suffering. 2 3

Products that make life easier. The correct ergonomic design of a workplace also means it easy to work with, practical and functional. A cramped and cluttered desktop is not only messy and unpleasant to look at, but is frequently the cause of unnecessary strain and an incorrect posture. To be able to work calmly and efficiently, studies show that we need at least 100 cm of working space. We subconsciously huddle up when our space is limited due to things like piles of work, or a workplace that is simply too small. Lighting - Good lighting affects work conditions much more than people think. LED lighting is good for the environment with its low energy consumption and long lifetime. Monitor arm - Using a monitor arm you can easily set your monitor to the correct distance, height, and angle. You should be approx cm from the monitor, a guideline is that your eyes should be angled slightly downwards when you look at the centre of the screen. The document holder - With a document holder you avoid turning your head unnecessarily. The shorter the distance between the monitor, document and keyboard means your eyes aren't constantly refocusing, causing less strain on them. Keyboard - White background colour and black characters provide a sharp contrast and good visual ergonomics. Centered mouse alternative - Choosing the right ergonomic pointing device is one of the most important preventive measures against Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). Armrest - An armrest takes the pressure off and supports your forearms and wrists during computer work, which prevents and alleviates RSI. Which also takes the pressure off your neck, upper back and shoulders. CPU holder The CPU holder puts the computer within reach under the desk. Desk and floor space is freed up and the workplace is easier to keep clean. Stand on the right surface - Ergonomic floor protection or a plastic workplace mat provides support for your body when working in a standing position. Cable management - A cable tidy organises the mess of cables under the desk, making the office more attractive and easier to keep clean. The chair - The best thing for your body is variation, alternating between standing and sitting positions. An ergonomically designed chair is essential, preferably a balance chair that works on your body while you're sitting down. 4 5

Most important of all is variation Ergonomic mice No matter how your workplace is equipped, the option for variation must be built in. To be able to alternate between standing and sitting during the day, using a centred mouse option to be able to alternate between using your left and right hands. Take a micro break at least once an hour, stretch and do some exercises. When you work standing up, the carpet should be supportive and ergonomic. The Back App chair is an ingenious invention for standing/seated workplaces that in fact strengthens the core muscles in your back as you sit. Choosing the right ergonomic mouse is one of the most important preventive actions against RSI. Try to achieve a posture where your arms can be held together close to the body and the distance between the mouse and keyboard is as short as possible to prevent unnecessary muscular tension. The Mousetrapper Advance is an ergonomic mouse option that provides a more varied work position at the computer, simply because it enables you to alternate between using your left and right hand. The comfortable Lycra wrist support with a soft foam filling takes the pressure off the forearms and wrists so that the neck, upper back and shoulders can relax. With the unique patented steering pad, which moves two-dimensionally, you can steer the cursor easily and precisely. On the edge of the steering pad is a smart touch-scroll function. It's thin size and the retractable keyboard platform make it suitable for both thin keyboards and higher standard keyboards. With the user-friendly MT key programme you can easily change the key functions yourself. Article no: The Trackbar Emotion is an ergonomic mouse in a smaller format and pleasant design that is perfect for stationary computers and laptops alike. You achieve a centred posture with your hands close to the keyboard, the mouse buttons and the clickable point- ing device. Built-in wrist support relieves pressure on your neck and shoulders and straightens out the angle of your wrists. Article no: EZ Mouse A vertical pointing device that prevents and alleviates RSI by placing the hand in a relaxed vertical position, the handshaking position. Like the body's own resting position, the arm hangs freely next to the body. This improves comfort and precision when you steer the pointer. Working with a standard mouse twists the forearm from its natural relaxed position and puts a lot of strain on the muscles. The EZ Mouse is a grip-friendly 2 button mouse with a clickable scroll wheel. Available both with a cable and as a battery-driven wireless version with a sender. Article no:

Keyboard Armrest Lighting Monitor arms The design of the keyboard is important for a well designed workplace. Thin, large keys that only require a light tap, clear signs, high contrast colours and materials that do not reflect or dazzle. An armrest takes the pressure off and supports your forearms and wrists during computer work, which prevents and alleviates RSI. Which also takes the pressure off your neck, upper back and shoulders. Correct lighting affects work conditions much more than people think. Health is significantly affected by the lighting in your workplace. Using a monitor arm you can easily set up the correct distance, height and angle from the monitor. You should be approx cm from the monitor, a guideline is that your eyes should be angled slightly downwards when you look at the centre of the screen. The Office keyboard is a thin full size keyboard that goes perfectly with, for example, the Mousetrapper Office. Article no: IBIS Asymmetric lighting provides a directional light distribution. For the best light, the lamp should be placed to the left for a righthanded person and vice versa. Monitor arm Free A double-jointed, flexible monitor arm in a stylish design. Gas suspension make it easy to adjust the height and angle. Article no: The Mousetrapper armrest has an asymmetric shape for better support for an angled arm position. It is assembled easily with a curved fixture and can also be placed straight onto a desk. Article no: Article no: Black mini keyboard A mini keyboard creates a postures with your arms closer to your body, thereby reducing muscular tension. In addition it is easy to carry around in your laptop bag. Article no: Softgel wrist support A wrist support takes the pressure off your arms and straightens out the angle of your wrist. Article no: Article no: New York LED lighting is good for the environment with its low energy consumption and long lifetime. Article no: White digit pad With a separate digit pad, you can place the digit pad either side of the keyboard. Being able to switch sides often in combination with larger and clearer keys provides a better posture and ergonomics. The digit pad can also be used with laptops and the mini keyboard. Softgel mouse mat A better alternative to just a mouse mat. Built-in wrist support relieves and straightens out the angle of the wrist. Sirius Lamp with symmetric lighting. Jointed arm and adjustable lamp body makes it easy to adjust the height, angle and light direction. Spider laptop support With a laptop support, even the laptop screen can be placed at the right height and angle for better visual ergonomics and posture. Supplement with a mini keyboard. 6 Document holder CPU holder Footrests and lumbar supports Neat and tidy With a document holder placed between the keyboard and the monitor you avoid turning your head unnecessarily. You don't have to refocus your eyes the whole time and it causes less strain. Angle the document holder to prevent reflections. The CPU-holder places the computer within reach under the desk. The computer is located in a more protected location, the desk or floor surfaces are freed up and the workplace is easier to clean. A footrest reduces the pressure against the legs from the chair cushion and the lumbar support creates a more upright posture. A cable tidy organises the tangle of cables, and also reduces the fire hazard. With cable channels you can hide the cables on the floor. 7 Workplace mats Carpet and floor protection Back App balance chair You should alternate between seated and standing working positions. Our smart mats for the workplace help to create variation, the combination of softness and spring vary your posture without you noticing. A chair mat effectively protects the floor or carpet from wear and dirt. In addition, the office chair's wheels roll easily and comfortably. Available with a flat, anti-glide treated reverse, with spikes for soft carpets or with a soft supporting reverse. We are seated more and more during our working day. Sedentary work is currently the most common type of work among professionally active women and men. A lot of people slump their back when they sit down. This strain can generate damage to the neck and back; particularly vulnerable is the lumbar region. Vary the balance challenge by screwing the ball tighter. The further down your screw the ball, the less stable the chair becomes and the more exercising effect. The Yoga Fashion is a workplace carpet especially designed for public places. The attractive textile surface creates a carpet that easily fits into an office environment. The reverse is made from soft, springy vinyl. Article no: The Yoga Sit and Stand is a combination of a soft and springy base that relieves the knees, joints and muscles and a surface that allows the wheels of the office chair to roll easily and smoothly. The reverse is made from of Zedlan. When you sit on the Back App you achieve a correct seated posture with a natural curve in the lower back, while you exercise and strengthen the core muscles in your back. Article no: Choose between a black or a red ball. More than 30 different custom colours to choose from. The Yoga Fashion Nitrile is a very soft and strain-reducing carpet with a durable outer layer of nitrile rubber and with a reverse of nitrile/pvc. Article no: The Foxtrot is a textile floor protector that effectively protects the floor from wear and dirt while also reducing noise. It has a full 5 year guarantee against wearing out. Article no: Major international studies have shown that the best way to exercise and strengthen the support muscles in your back is through balance exercises for the back and stomach. The Back App in many ways breaks with conventional ideas about what a work chair should be like. Instead of complicated, adjustable functions, the chair is constructed to follow your body according to how you move. This provides you with an active seated position and, unlike traditional chairs, it forces you to sit correctly, and not the other way around! When you sit on the Back App you achieve a correct seated posture with a natural curve in the lower back, while you exercise and strengthen the core muscles in your back. The chair's centre of gravity balances on a ball that you can adjust for different levels of balance training. Your feet rest on the balance reducing foot plate. The Back App is available with and without wheels. The Back App is recommended by most naprapaths and chiropractors. The Back App creates a more upright and higher seated position and should therefore be used together with a height-adjustable desk. Alternating between standing and seated work is recommended. The Back App combines ergonomics and design Yoga Step Zedlan Extremely durable workplace carpet with an extra strong surface finish. Soft and noise-reducing reverse of the springy Zedlan material. 8 The Mousetrapper - a smarter choice The Mousetrapper provides variation The Mousetrapper is an ergonomic mouse option that provides a more varied work posture at the computer simply by being enabling you to alternate between the left and right hand. You can use both hands, simultaneously or alternately. your hands as open and flat as possible, this reduces the static load on hands and wrists. The built-in wrist support provides soft strain reduction on a wide surface. You can even reduce the strain on your shoulders and neck by resting your arms against the desk or on a comfortable armrest. The Mousetrapper relieves strain The Mousetrapper is very simple to use The centred work approach, with your arms relaxed and close to the body, reduces the strain on your shoulders and neck and prevents and alleviates Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). Sit or stand close to the desk, work with your arms close to your body, your forearms should preferably be close to your sides. The keyboard and steering pad should be located close together, as close to your body as possible. Work with You click, control and scroll using the steering pad. The Mousetrapper connects quickly with the USB cable provided, no installation is required. With the user-friendly MT-key program, you can easily change all the key functions to perform the keyboard commands you want. The Mousetrapper is very simple to use and provides you with a more varied posture when working at the computer. You can easily choose they key functions. Work with open and flat hands, alternate between your left and right hand or use both simultaneously. Work with your hands as flat as possible, it prevents and alleviates Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). Built-in wrist support provides soft relief. Sit or stand close to the desk, working with arms near the body, centred on the keyboard and steering pad. Your forearms should preferably be close to the sides of your body. Reduce the strain on your shoulders and neck by resting your arms on a comfortable armrest. 10 tips on how to improve ergonomics in the workplace: Check to ensure that tables and chairs are positioned correctly in relation to your body and how you work. You should not need to huddle up or stoop. Utilize the height-adjustable desk by occasionally standing up and working. Remember that you should stand on an ergonomic carpet and not a hard floor. Use an ergonomic mouse. It counteracts strain on your arms, shoulders, upper back and neck. Click, steer and scroll on the unique steering pad. Simple and fast connection using the USB cable provided. 14 Check your lighting. Good general lighting in the room should be supplemented with a desk lamp. Consider placement, if you are right-handed, the light should fall from the left over the workspace. Hold your upper arms close to your body, relaxed at a 90 angle against the Mousetrapper and the armrest and you will reduce the strain on your shoulders and neck. Allowing in light where you work is important because light cheers you up. A window allows you to lift your eyes from the computer screen and look out, giving the eyes a natural break. Regardless of the size of your screen - make sure you work with large text. The screen should be located at an arm's length from you. The top of the screen should be level with your eyes. A keyboard with a white background for black letters is good for visual ergonomics. Work with hands close to your body and allow arms to rest against a forearm support or table to relieve the body from excess weight. If you talk a lot on the phone - use a headset to reduce the strain on your arms, shoulders and neck. 15

The portable workplace. Thinking about how you work when you are mobile is just as important as ensuring you have an ergonomic office. A laptop support means that the screen is placed at the right height and angle, so that your eyes, shoulders and above all, your neck, are spared from unnecessary strain. Together with the laptop support, you should use a separate keyboard. A mini keyboard creates a better posture, as the upper arms come closer to your upper body and your hands work closer together. This generates less muscular tension. Push the keyboard inwards on the table to provide your arms with support. A wrist support is also easy to carry with you in your laptop bag.
