1 Metro Bilbao - Global management and distributed station control Metro Bilbao needed to renew the old control system of auxiliary facilities of their metro stations. The aim was to keep the existing functionalities local control and expand the control functions to remote control for all stations. In the first stage the local control was implemented. The station SCADA systems were connected to the local PLC s. The first prototype station was fully tested. After the validation of the panels and the data templates this was expanded to all other stations. The second stage was to build the distributed system. All stations were connected through Ethernet and the SCADA system for the central control center was installed. At the end the station SCADA system was connected to the central SCADA system. The result was a global station control. End user Metro Bilbao The metro in Bilbao is one of the most important public transport systems in Bizkaia since It is the perfect example of engineering and architecture working together. System integrator Gertek Sociedad de Gestiones y Servicios, S.A., Spain Gertek is WinCC OA Solution partner and a company involved in urban and interurban traffic management. It provides tools and experience for the improvement of mobility of persons and goods. Gertek offers first level multidisciplinary team of technicians and develops software tools and hardware. They have the knowledge of the best techniques. Realization March March 2014

2 Technical data 1 SCADA system in central control center (PMS): Connected to all PLCs Centralizes all the communication 2 redundant servers Supervisory access through Web Client 41 SCADA systems in the metro stations (PME): Connected to local PLCs (10 stations with 120 PLCs (SIMATIC S7) and 31 stations with 130 PLCs (Modbus-TCP)) Connected to the PMS SCADA Installed in the PC of the supervisor All stations are connected via an Ethernet network 50,000 I/O signals in total
