3 Work with Pictures and ClipArts Add photo and ClipArt To help convey the presenter s ideas to audiences, using photographs, illustrations or diagrams is an effective way to achieve the goal Insert a photo to a slide Click on the slide to add photo From the Ribbon, click Home tab Insert click Picture button select one of the following options Photo Browser - to open up the Media dialog box and select a desired photo Picture from File - to allow you to navigate your picture in your local machine or on the network drive If you choose Picture from File option, the Choose a Picture dialog box displays Navigate the picture that you want to insert Click Insert button Lasted Edited:
4 Position and resize the image if necessary Click off the slide to see the end result Insert a ClipArt to a slide Click on the slide to add photo From the Ribbon, click Home tab Insert click Picture button select one of the following options Clip Art Browser to open Media dialog box to browse a desired Clip Art Clip Art Gallery to open Clip Gallery dialog box to select a desired Clip Art categorized in groups Replace and adjust pictures Remove and replace an image Select an image you want to replace Resize and position an image so that the new image will be stay in the same place and to be the same size as the old one Hold CONTROL + click select Change Picture Lasted Edited:

6 Adjust pictures Select the picture that you want to adjust From the Ribbon, click Format Picture tab use the formatting control tools to make a custom adjustment To crop the picture, under Adjust, click Crop button To sharpen, soften or adjust brightness and contrast of the picture, under Adjust, click Correction button and select a desired adjustment tools in the gallery Lasted Edited:
7 To recolor the image, under Adjust, click Recolor button and select a desired option for color saturation, color tones and recoloring presets Lasted Edited:
8 Remove the background from images In Office 2011, a background of a picture can be easily removed to accent or highlight the subject of the picture or to remove distracting detail NOTE Compressing a picture to reduce the file size changes the amount of detail retained in the source picture. This means that after compression, the picture can look different than before it was compressed. Because of this, you should compress the picture and save the file before removing the background. If you don't like the results of the compression and background removal, you can change the compression even after you save the file, if you have not closed the program that you are working in. Select a photo that you want to remove its background NOTE If [compatibility mode] appears after the file name at the top of the document, you might not be able to remove the picture background. From the Ribbon, click Format Picture tab Adjust click Remove Background Lasted Edited:
9 The application determines what portion of the picture is the foreground (the portion to keep), and which is the background (the portion to remove) Drag any of the sizing handles to resize the rectangle so that it contains the portion of the picture that you want to keep and excludes most of the areas that you want to remove. To adjust which part of the picture background is removed, do any of the following: A dotted line with a + or - indicates where you have adjusted the picture background. If you want to remove the adjustment to the picture background, click the + or Lasted Edited:
10 To apply the background removal, click anywhere outside the picture To cancel the background removal and any other picture formatting that you have applied, under Adjust, click Reset button Lasted Edited:
11 Work with SmartArt graphics SmartArt graphics are one of the powerful visual tools to help audience understand complex ideas Insert SmartArt graphics From the Ribbon, click SmartArt tab Insert SmartArt Graphic select a desired SmartArt type, for example Hierarchy Circle Picture Hierarchy In the Text Pane, type the text that you want to include in your SmartArt graphic. When you are finished, click the X to close the Text Pane Lasted Edited:
12 TIP You can add text directly in a SmartArt graphic shape by clicking [TEXT] in the shape, then typing the text that you want If you cannot see the Text Pane, select the whole SmartArt graphic click located on the left side of the SmartArt graphic Lasted Edited:

15 Change the style of the SmartArt graphic If you applied a theme to your presentation, the SmartArt graphic styles available for you to choose from coordinate with the theme and theme colors. Click the SmartArt graphic that you want to change. 17 Chang the orientation of a SmartArt graphic You can change the orientation of a SmartArt graphic from left to right or right to left. Click the SmartArt graphic that you want to change. From the Ribbon, click SmartArt tab Edit SmartArt click Right to Left. NOTE You cannot change the orientation of some SmartArt graphics Reset the SmartArt graphic to remove formatting You can reset the SmartArt graphic to the default appearance. This removes changes that you have made to the color, style, shape, and text style of a SmartArt graphic. Click the SmartArt graphic that you want to change.
