1 PUBLIC ACCESS TO TOILETS IN TORFAEN Many people need to use a toilet when they are out and about and Torfaen County Borough Council currently provide a number of public toilet blocks across the Borough; there are also many businesses (such as shops, cafes, restaurants & pubs) providing facilities for their customers. Sometimes the need to use a toilet can be an emergency and not knowing where to access such facilities means some people stay at home or limit their activities. This can lead to social isolation and feelings of loneliness, especially in older people. With public service budgets reducing, maintaining public toilets is always an area of concern and the Council is doing everything it can to work with partners and continue to provide these facilities. In addition the Council and some of our partners are very willing to let members of the public use toilets in the following locations which will help people to feel confident to go out and about, meet friends and participate in local life. Look out for this symbol it means you can pop in and use the toilets; you do not have to use the services of that building.

2 As at March 2016 there are public toilet facilities in the following locations: Blaenavon: Public toilet block located at Lion Street, NP4 9NH Monday to Sunday: 07:00 to 16:30 Pontypool: Public toilet block at the Town Hall, NP4 6JL Public toilet block in Pontypool Park, NP4 8AT below rugby stand Pontypool Market, NP4 6JW: Monday: 08:00 to 14:00 Tuesday to Saturday: 08:00 to 17:00 The Market is closed on some Bank Holidays Cwmbran: Public toilet block at the Boating Lake, Llanyrafon, NP44 8HT Public toilet block at South Fields, Llanyrafon, NP44 8HT Public toilet block at Woodland Road Social Centre, Croesyceiliog, NP44 2DZ (provided by Croesyceiliog & Llanyrafon Community Council): Available when the social centre is being used or the community council is open; this covers most days and some evenings.
