The MICHELIN Primacy SUV tyre was developed to address these needs, and provide maximum safety and protection to the driver and their family. The new tyre offers significant safety improvements: 2.2 meters 1 shorter braking distance on wet roads. 6% 2 improved grip in wet cornering. 1.9 meters 3 shorter braking in dry conditions. 2 MICHELIN Primacy SUV and the Michelin Technologies Below is an outline of the Michelin technologies featured in the MICHELIN Primacy SUV tyre. Combined with an optimal tread pattern, this technology enhances safety performance. FlexMax2.0 technology promotes a safer ride through a combination of two features: The flexible tread adapts to the shape of the road for greater contact and grip; while the chamfered tread block prevents distorting under pressure. Self-locking knobs inside the small grooves of the tread minimize tread block deformation; improve handling and braking in the dry, while still having enough grooves to effectively cut through water in the wet. 4 Ensures a quieter ride by reducing tyre noise. While the tread pattern design is crucial for safety performance, it can also generate more noise. Michelin has addressed this issue by designing tread blocks with a wider spectrum of sizes and positions. This enables the noise generated to spread across a wider frequency range, without peaks of noise, making the tyre quieter. The EvenPeak technology does not sacrifice the handling, or braking performance of the tyre. When the tread blocks make contact with the road, the FlexMax2.0 compound cushions the vibrations. This supple tread, together with a shock absorbent sidewall, forms the CushionGuard technology.
