2 This unanswered question is a complex maze of what, why and how something happened. So when an opinion is made it always has its downfalls. In this power point we ll look at opinions from all sides. The reality is though this question will remain unanswered for a while in the future. And maybe it should remain that way...

3 Christianity believes that God created the universe in 7 days: Day 1: God created light and separated light from darkness. Day 2: God created an expanse, the sky. Day 3: God created dry ground, He called it land and the waters sea. Day 4: God created the Moon, Sun and stars to give light and govern night and day and to mark the days, seasons and years. Day 5: God created every living creature. Day 6: God also created Man and Woman (Adam and Eve). Day 7: God had finished his masterpiece and rested. That was how Christians believed that the universe was made by God.

4 Darwin believed that matter is all that exists in the universe. Left on its own, matter then produced everything such as the human brain. According to Darwin, the things created by the brain, such as God, are not matter therefore don t exist.

5 Plato s opinion was that the universe was created by The Demiurge (the creator of the universe in Plato s theory) brought into being the Sun, the Moon and five other stars till the end of time. These are called wanderers (planêta) and they stand guard over the numbers of time, and that time really is the wanderings of these objects.

6 I believe that the Big Bang created the universe simply because the planets orbit the Sun and the Moons orbit the planets. The universe moves by gravity in its own power so surely it could create itself? I don t believe in God because of that reason, the universe works by gravity. The lord is gravity.

7 The Big Bang is a recent theory because scientists are learning more about the universe each year and can peer into the far corners of space. This is why society has bought to the idea of the Big Bang. On the other hand can we trust science and also no science technology can determine whether God exists or not.

8 Christians worship God to thank him for his work and in the hope to be rewarded in heaven so surely God must be real or they wouldn t devote themselves to it? On the other hand they might be confident God exists but that doesn t mean He created the universe though?

9 Science has proved that the universe started 13.7 billion years ago. Humans appeared on Earth 50,000 years ago. So how come God created the universe and humans in 7 days? On the other hand how can a massive explosion occur when there is no gravity to create it? What about Darwin s opinion? That opinion is logical but how does matter alone create other, sometimes even more complex matter? Or even Plato s opinion, could there be a God made up of the stars and our Moon? So Plato s opinion is more like Christianities opinion in a religious sense. Whilst Darwin s is like the Big Bang idea in a scientific sense. But then Plato s, Darwin s and Christianities opinions are all historical whilst the Big Bang theory is a recent opinion. But which opinion is right?

10 Unlike religion most neutral people (scientist nor religious) would think science as fact and religion as belief. The Big Bang though is not a fact but after experiments and so forth it was a possibility. Which is a big word with a question like this. With Christianities outlook very historical it was thought as more of a belief. But how did the idea of God creating us come to life? It probably was thought of early in the life of Christianity because the idea of a supreme being creating us made sense, and Christians believe it still does. Plato s opinion was similar and was thought through with logic and in the state of society then it was to most people. Darwin s opinion was later, and thought of at the beginning of the science era and, in its youth had limited ideas and Darwin s made sense and in my opinion, does now.

11 This complex maze of what, why and how something happens has still not been uncovered. No matter what opinion it will only inflict society, not the actual story of how the universe began.
