Lesson 2: The Rapture, Judgment Seat of Christ, Resurrection of the dead, Our Glorified Bodies, and Marriage Supper of the Lamb
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to ( His Father s house, true citizenship ). - 3 Differences between RAPTURE and RETURN OF CHRIST: 1. : The Rapture will happen after peaceful times (I Thess. 5:2,3), while the Return of Christ will take place after the Tribulation. (Matt. 24:21,29,30) 2. : The Rapture will be Jesus coming for His saints (I Thess. 4:16,17) to take them away, while the Return of Christ is Jesus coming with the saints to Judge. (Jude 14,15) 3. : At the Rapture Jesus comes in the clouds (I Thessalonians 4:17), while at the Return of Christ, He comes all the way down to earth. (Zechariah 14:4) *I Thessalonians 4:14-17, 17, I Corinthians 15:51,52 There will be a shout (i.e., word of command), the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God to Christ s coming, and then the dead in Christ will rise first, and along with the believers still alive, they ll meet Christ in the air to be with Him forever.
John 14:2,3 In My Father s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to HEAVEN ( His Father s house, true citizenship ).
I Thessalonians 5:2,3 RAPTURE For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. Matthew 24:21,29,30 RETURN of CHRIST For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to HEAVEN ( His Father s house, true citizenship ). - 3 Differences between RAPTURE and RETURN OF CHRIST: 1. 7 I Thessalonians 4:16,17 the RAPTURE For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Jude 14,15 the RETURN of CHRIST It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to HEAVEN ( His Father s house, true citizenship ). - 3 Differences between RAPTURE and RETURN OF CHRIST: 1. 9 I Thessalonians 4:17 the RAPTURE Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Zechariah 14:4 the RETURN of CHRIST On that day His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to HEAVEN ( His Father s house, true citizenship ). - 3 Differences between RAPTURE and REVELATION OF CHRIST: 1. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. I Corinthians 15:51,52 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
The Rapture The End Times.. - John 14:2,3; Philippians 3:20: We are now awaiting Jesus return since He said that He will come personally for His followers and take them to HEAVEN ( His Father s house, true citizenship ). - 3 Differences between RAPTURE and REVELATION OF CHRIST: 1. 13 Resurrection of Believers and Unbelievers Although sometimes both resurrections are mentioned in the same sentence (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29), they are clearly two events occurring at separate times. (I Thess. 4:16, Rev. 20:13,14). In addition, different groups of believers will be raised at different (I Cor. 15:20, 23) The first group will be those dead in Christ (I Thess. 4:16) along with believers still alive (I Thess. 4:17). The second group will be those who are saved and die during the Tribulation (Rev. 20:4) as well as Old Testament believers (Dan. 12: ) The third group will be believers who die during the millennium.
Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29 (Same Sentence) having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust. (Acts 24:15) Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. (Jn. 5:28,29) I Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:13 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (I Thessalonians 4:16) And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:13,14)
Resurrection of Believers and Unbelievers Although sometimes both resurrections are mentioned in the same sentence (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29), they are clearly two SEPARATE events occurring at separate times. The second group will be those who are saved and die during the Tribulation (Rev. 20:4) as well as Old Testament believers (Dan. 12: ) The third group will be believers who die during the millennium.
I Corinthians 15:20,23 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
Resurrection of Believers and Unbelievers Although sometimes both resurrections are mentioned in the same sentence (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29), they are clearly two SEPARATE events occurring at separate times. 18 I Thessalonians 4:16,17 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. 20 Revelation 20:4 Tribulation Saints Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Daniel 12:11-13 O.T. Saints And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days."
Resurrection of Believers and Unbelievers Although sometimes both resurrections are mentioned in the same sentence (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29), they are clearly two SEPARATE events occurring at separate times. (I Thess. 4:16, Rev. 20:13,14). The second group will be those who are saved and die during the Tribulation (Rev. 20:4) as well as Old Testament believers (Dan. 12: ) The third group will be believers who die during the millennium.
At Any Time Luke 12:35-38; 38; Luke 12:39,40 Just like servants waiting for their master s return and a thief coming at night, the time of Jesus return will be. Luke 17:26,27; Luke 17:28,29 Just like the Flood and destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah took the people by, so will Christ s coming and the punishments that follow (ie,tribulation). Matthew 24:36, Jesus return will suddenly interrupt people in their normal every day lives. Jesus will then take believers but leave unbelievers on earth to be. (ie,tribulation)
Luke 12:35-38 Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. Luke 12:39,40 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
At Any Time Luke 12:35-38; 38; Luke 12:39,40 Just like servants waiting for their master s return and a thief coming at night, the time of Jesus return will be UNKNOWN.
Luke 17:26,27 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:28,29 It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
At Any Time Luke 12:35-38; 38; Luke 12:39,40 Just like servants waiting for their master s return and a thief coming at night, the time of Jesus return will be UNKNOWN. Luke 17:26,27; Luke 17:28,29 Just like the Flood and destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah took the people by SURPRISE, so will Christ s coming and the punishments that follow (ie,tribulation). Matthew 24:36, Jesus return will suddenly interrupt people in their normal every day lives. Jesus will then take believers but leave unbelievers on earth to be. (ie,tribulation)
Matthew 24:36, No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. that is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
Jesus will then take believers but leave unbelievers on earth to be PUNISHED. (ie,tribulation)
Glorified Bodies The End Times.. Romans 8:23,24a By believing in Christ, our spirit has been made new, but we are still eagerly waiting for the time that our will be made new also. I Corinthians 15: Some doubted that a dead body could become alive again, but Paul reminded them it s just like a seed the shell dies, then the seed grows into a new, better body. I Corinthians 15: Our new bodies will be fit for : imperishable, full of glory, powerful. I John 3:2; Philippians 3:20,21 The best picture of our glorified body is resurrected body: 1] John 20:19,26 Jesus could a room when the door was shut. 2] Luke 24:30,31 Jesus could suddenly from sight while talking with people. 3] Acts 1:9 Jesus could defy gravity and into the sky. 4] Luke 24:15,16,31 Jesus looked but the same. 5] Luke 24: However, Jesus could still talk, eat and be.
Romans 8:23,24a Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved.
Glorified Bodies The End Times.. Romans 8:23,24a By believing in Christ, our spirit has been made new, but we are still eagerly waiting for the time that our BODIES will be made new also.
I Corinthians 15:35-37 But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.
Glorified Bodies The End Times.. Romans 8:23,24a By believing in Christ, our spirit has been made new, but we are still eagerly waiting for the time that our BODIES will be made new also. I Corinthians 15: Some doubted a dead body could become alive again, but Paul reminded them it s just like PLANTING seeds the shell dies and then the seed grows into a new, better body.
I Corinthians 15:42-53 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven. I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
Glorified Bodies The End Times.. Romans 8:23,24a By believing in Christ, our spirit has been made new, but we are still eagerly waiting for the time that our BODIES will be made new also. 36 I John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Philippians 3:20,21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Glorified Bodies Romans 8:23,24a By believing in Christ, our spirit has been made new, but we are still eagerly waiting for the time that our BODIES will be made new also. 38 John 20:19,26 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you! A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!

Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.
