We call them present, past, and past participle. The present form of a verb shows the action happening now. Present: work I work hard every day. 2 Lesson 1 Irregular Verbs Most past and past participle verbs are formed by adding ed. But some are not. A past or past participle verb that does not end in ed is an irregular verb. Irregular means not formed in the usual way. Make irregular verbs into their past and past participle forms by changing their spellings. Study these words until you have learned these five irregular verbs and their parts.
