3 Price Markdown The SATO Retail Labelling Solution helps you manage price markdowns more efficiently and eases clearance of end-of-line and perishable products. It enables you to implement an instant sale at short notice and improve inventory flow. Our mobile printers enable users to produce labels and tags on-demand and on-site. They support a range of scanner and data peripherals, while the option of wireless connectivity means prices on markdown labels can be synchronised with prices at the till in real time. SATO s range of sale markdown systems includes two-colour thermal printing, offering the ultimate in efficient, eye-catching labels. Twocolour thermal printing emphasises the price more effectively than standard monochrome printing and makes the labels easier to read. The two colours are printed in just one pass and for ease of use the thermal printing requires no ribbons, making loading a new label roll incredibly simple. Promotional labelling SATO s promotional labelling solutions are ideal for value-added pricing requirements such as multi-buys. Labels are designed and produced to meet your store s requirements, reflecting product specifications and your individual branding. You can choose from two options, depending on your printing volume. Pre-printed labels are useful for large quantities as any promotional text can be applied directly to the product. Alternatively, SATO offers blank labels that meet your store s unique requirements whenever required. You can then select the appropriate SATO product to overprint promotional pricing details. Was/Now pricing Customers are encouraged to buy when they can clearly see how much they are saving. To show the original price of an item, together with the new reduced price, a two or three line label can be printed on demand and applied to the original tag, or product. Price reduction tags When reduced items such as clothes cannot be marked with a self-adhesive label, a card tag printed using a SATO tag printer can be added to display the Was and Now prices.

4 Short Shelf-life Solutions Label over Barcode Label Over Barcode solutions improve the way stores handle perishable and short shelf-life goods and are ideal for managing end-of-line discounts. A sandwich label with a clear film underneath is placed over an item s barcode to stop it being scanned when it gets to the EPOS terminal. When the item reaches the checkout the till operator removes the label, scans the goods and inputs the reduced price manually. This process can also be adapted for non-epos terminals by entering the lower price as the price of the item. Barcode over Barcode By placing a new barcode label with the reduced price information over the top of the existing barcode, handling time can be substantially reduced leading to improved checkout efficiency and customer service. The new label is placed over the existing barcode and shows the original price, the reduced price and a Code 128 barcode. This new barcode contains the original product article number and the reduced price. When the till operator scans the item the customer is automatically charged the reduced price and inventory records for the store are automatically updated. Queue Busting To minimise the amount of time customers have to wait to pay, SATO has a range of queue busting solutions that utilise portable hand-held barcode terminals and lightweight thermal printers to process payments and issue receipts. They can be operated in various retail environments, whether stores have RFID technology or not. Shelf Edge Labelling Our portable shelf edge labelling products are convenient and cost effective. They boast a ribbon-free printing system that uses thermal card to give an unbeatable print clarity. A wide choice of fonts, colours and backgrounds can be specified to achieve a distinctive result. Stocktaking To make your stock take easier and more efficient we provide database software and hardware for hand-held scanning systems. Our systems can either be based on a batch collection method, where data is uploaded via a data cradle or utilise wireless technology for real-time updating of database records.

Linerless Labels Unlike conventional labels the SATO range of Linerless Labels are not carried on a backing paper. These pressure sensitive labels are wound on a roll that has release coating applied to the front of the facestock to prevent the adhesive from sticking on the label below. The range comes in a selection of facestock which include standard paper, direct thermal and a choice of permanent, re-positional or removable adhesive strengths. Linerless labels are particularly suited to mobile printing solutions. More labels, less waste Because the linerless labels don t come with a backing paper you get more labels on a roll up to 40% more in fact. Which in turn, saves on storage space and the time needed to change empty rolls. The increased number of labels per roll results in a lot less waste. We ve completely eliminated the need for the disposal of liners. Waste, in the form of liners, accounts for a considerable amount of silicone going to landfill, so choosing linerless labels lessens your carbon footprint and removes a potential safety hazard from retail floors.
