2 Introduction IBackup Professional is an application that provides an easy, secure, and a reliable way to backup individual mailboxes on the MS Exchange Server Store to your IBackup Professional account with the ' Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox Backup feature. The application backs up the contents of the selected mailbox or mailboxes to a Personal Folder (.PST) file that can be accessed using Microsoft Outlook at any point of time. The IBackup Professional Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox Backup is designed to perform the backup of individual mailboxes or an individual to a Personal Folder (.PST) file for the selected mailbox store. Please note that this is not a method for the complete backup (or recovery) of the Exchange Server databases. Please ensure that appropriate Mailbox Rights have been granted to perform the Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox Backup of selected mailbox or mailboxes. 1

3 Features IBackup Professional lays strong emphasis on encryption of data. During backup, files are encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption* before being transmitted to our data centers using an encryption password that is known only to the end user. Even IBackup Professional personnel do not have access to your data thereby ensuring maximum data security. Data backed up using IBackup Professional is transferred using 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology. IBackup Professional supports versioning of Backup sets as well as of individual file versions. This means users can restore prior Backup set versions or can restore up to 30 prior versions of a single file. IBackup Professional offers a very simple and intuitive user-friendly interface similar to the native Microsoft Windows explorer that makes it easy to select files and folders for backup and restore. It utilizes your network bandwidth effectively by compressing data files during transmission. IBackup Professional supports Incremental backups. Incremental backups are done by transferring only modified portions of a file that was backed up previously resulting in faster and less time consuming backups. Each backup creates a new Backup set that is identified by the corresponding backup date and time. IBackup Professional supports backup of mapped drives in NT service mode, even if the system has been logged off. Data backed up using IBackup Professional can only be accessed and restored through the IBackup Professional interface only. This feature helps preserve and maintain integrity of data. IBackup Professional offers efficient storage computation since the storage space is calculated only for the latest version of a file and is not based on the historical versions. IBackup Professional maintains the backup data image as of 'the time of backup' that allows for accurate restore as of the backup set. IBackup Professional application can be setup to perform backups/restores from behind HTTP / SOCKS proxy servers. IBackup Professional Schedule Backup wizard allows for notifications on the status of their scheduled backup jobs to be send to the user s address. Users can also choose to receive desktop notifications on the status of scheduled backup jobs. IBackup Professional users can view the status of scheduled backup jobs and the corresponding log files using tray icon. Bandwidth throttle is a new feature introduced in IBackup Professional 1.x. IBackup Professional users can reduce the application bandwidth and access other Internet based applications without interruptions. IBackup Professional also provides the Search option that allows users to search for files based on the file name or type in the IBackup Professional account. IBackup Professional supports one-way Sync from 'My Computer' to your IBackup Professional account. Ability to automatically backup most common user data and the most common application data types. Easy, fast and reliable way to backup and restore MS SQL Server database files. 2

4 Backup MS Exchange Server databases with IBackup Professional and higher. Also easily restore the backed up MS Exchange Server databases. You can backup open files using the `Open file Backup' feature available with IBackup Professional version or higher. Note that this feature is available only for Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. Backup individual mailboxes (Brick-Level Mailbox backup) on the MS Exchange Store to your IBackup Professional account. The application backs up the contents of the selected mailboxes to a Personal Folder (.PST) file. *Please note that some earlier accounts may be configured for 128-bit RC4 encryption Downloading and Installing IBackup Professional Download the application from Once the download is complete, you can see the IBackup Professional executable (.exe) file. On double-clicking the IBackup Professional Setup Icon, a welcome screen appears. Click 'Next' to proceed or Cancel to exit. In the License agreement screen, select the appropriate button. The available options are: I accept the agreement I do not accept the agreement Select 'I accept the agreement' option and click on the button Next > button. Select a destination folder, where you wish to install the application and then click on the Next > button. Select the option from the options below. Standard NT Service Click on the Next > button. Select the Start Menu folder in which you would like Setup to create the program s shortcut. Click on the Next > button to select the additional icons that you would like to add for easy navigation and click on Next > again. Click on the Install button to continue the installation. A dialog box appears indicating the installation status of IBackup Professional. Enter the encryption password when the application is installed for the first time. Note that the user must remember the encryption password. The same password has to be entered when the IBackup Professional application has to be installed in more than one location and also to access the encrypted files. 3

5 Click Finish to close the Wizard. The login screen will appear. Enter the username and password and click on the Login button. After you login, the IBackup Professional main screen will appear. You can now start backup of files or folders and restore them later using the options provided. Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox backup IBackup Professional provides an easy, secure, and a reliable method to backup individual mailboxes on the MS Exchange Server Store to your IBackup Professional account through the ' Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox Backup. The application backs up the contents of the selected mailbox or mailboxes to a Personal Folder (.PST) file that can be accessed using Microsoft Outlook at any point of time. The IBackup Professional Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox Backup is designed to perform the backup of individual mailboxes or an individual to a Personal Folder (.PST) file for the selected mailbox store. In order to perform the complete Exchange Server database backup (or the Exchange Server database recovery) you should only use the Exchange Server backup feature of the IBackup Professional application. Backing up MS Exchange Server Mailboxes To backup MS Exchange Server Mailboxes to your IBackup Professional account, please follow the steps given below: 4

6 Step 1 Login to IBackup Professional. In the IBackup Professional main screen, click on Advanced Backup > 'Exchange Server' > Exchange Brick-Level Mailbox' > 'Backup. Step 2 Select the individual mailbox or mailboxes that you wish to backup to your IBackup Professional account from the MS Exchange Server. 5

7 Step 3 Click on the Browse button to choose a temporary location on your local computer to store the selected MS Exchange Server mailboxes as a Personal Folder (.PST) file. Note Please ensure that the selected temporary location on your computer has sufficient free space to hold the contents of individual mailboxes of MS Exchange Server. You are not allowed to select the temporary location on the remote location. Step 4 While selecting mailboxes for backups, you can customize your selection based on the following criteria. 1) Backup all the messages: By default, the Backup all the messages option will be enabled. If you choose this option, the whole mailbox contents will be backed up. 2) Based on Date: This option allows you to select messages belonging to a specified date and time or between a particular date and time. 3) Based on subject and attachment: You can also select messages based on the subject or attachment. 4) Select individual mailbox folders: Click on this button to choose mailbox folders such as Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Calendars, Tasks, Journals etc. that you wish to backup. Please note that only the selected folders will be processed and all others will be ignored. Step 5 Click on the Backup now button to set an immediate schedule job 6

8 Or Click on the Next button to backup for a future date or time with the scheduling options provided on the Scheduler Wizard. Other Requirements 512 MB RAM 10 MB Free Hard Disk space for installed program 20MB or more recommended for local caching Internet Explorer 6 is highly recommended Note With respect to the version compatibility of IBackup Professional on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 Server scheduled backup jobs will run from a Windows NT service. This will automatically login to your IBackup Professional account with the login parameters you have specified during the configuration stage. Perform the scheduled backup job and logout from your IBackup Professional account. IBackup Professional requires the high encryption pack to work properly. If you are running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1, we recommend installing the high encryption pack from the link below: Windows 98 SE users need to upgrade their Internet Explorer to IE6 to support the high encryption that IBackup Professional supports. Windows NT server users are requested to ensure that they have the service pack 6 installed. You must have administrator privileges for the installation of the IBackup Professional application. 7
