1 International Students Scholarship Opportunities University of Louisville Scholarships International Student Tuition Support Scholarship Deadline: March 1, 2016 Up to $500 scholarship given to international students who have completed two semesters as a full time degree seeking students at UofL. Strickler Red Barn Alumni Association (RBAA) Scholarship Deadline: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5pm. $1,700 scholarship provided to undergraduate students who are involved in student activities at U of L The Dennis C. Golden Torchbearer Scholarship Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5pm. $500 Scholarship given to students who demonstrated leadership ability at U of L and have done community service Essie Jenkins Torchbearer Scholarship Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5pm $500 scholarship given to African-American students with good academic standing, financial need, community service, and activities outside the classroom

2 Bridgette Pregliasco Adult Learner Scholarship Deadline: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5pm $500 scholarship given to students with minimum of GPA 3.0 and age of 22, based on their academic record and statement for justification of award addressing these criteria. Alumni Association Scholarships ntid=0 Deadline: March 15, 2016 All applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of the Board of Directors within the third or fourth week of May. It is within their discretion to award scholarships, change the criteria, and award additional scholarship money to qualifying applicants when circumstances are appropriate. CODRE Diversity Grants Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research Grant Opportunities Deadline: March 11, 2016 at 4pm Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality (CODRE) offers grants and awards to undergraduate and graduate students. The undergraduate student investigator must have completed his/her sophomore year or completed at least 60 course credit hours at the University of Louisville at the time the application is submitted.the student must be a member of a federally recognized underserved minority (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native or Pacific Islander). The request for this funding initiative will be focused on support of UofL graduate student research that targets populations which are the focus of the commission diverse, underserved, under-represented and/or vulnerable populations.

3 Outside Scholarships The Margaret Mcnamara Memorial Fund Deadline: 16 January, Scholarship is given to full-time enrolled women, with financial need, who demonstrate a commitment to working to empower women and children in developing countries. This may not hold US citizenship or permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship. American Association for University Women - International Fellowships Deadline: December 1. Full-time study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported. Davis-Putter Scholarships Deadline: April 1, 2016 Need-based grants (up to $6,000) to undergraduate or graduate students actively working for peace and justice on campus and/or in the community. Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Deadline: December 14, Essay contest for full-time juniors or seniors. Prizes range from $500 - $5,000. Humane Studies Fellowships Deadline: late December. For undergraduate and graduate students interested in the classical liberal/libertarian tradition of individual rights and market economies. More than 100 fellowships up to $12,000 are awarded annually.

4 International Dissertation Field Research Fellowships Deadline: varies. Up to 50 fellowships to support social scientists and humanists conducting dissertation field research in all areas and regions of the world. J. W. Saxe Memorial Fund Deadline: March. Annual $1,000 scholarship to one or more undergraduate or graduate students working in public service. Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Advanced Studies Deadline: January 31, 2016 Nationals of IMF Asian member countries interested in studying for their doctorates in economics in order to work in an international financial institution (such as the IMF or the World Bank) or in their home administrations. Josephine de Karman Scholarships Deadline: January 31, Scholarship to support either the final year of study for juniors ($14,000) in undergraduate or for PhD candidates ($22,000) with ABD status. Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowship Deadline: December 4, Supports doctoral dissertations that explore the sources and nature of international conflict, and strategies to prevent or end conflict and to sustain peace. Citizens of all countries are eligible, but must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.

5 The Roothbert Fund Scholarship Program Approximately 20 ($2,000-$3,000) awards are offered to students in the U.S. in need of financial aid to further their education at the undergraduate or graduate level. Deadline: January 31, Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP) summer fellowship 10-week program in which selected undergraduate students conduct independent research. Student recipients of this competitive fellowship will receive a stipend of $3,000 and also will be provided housing at no cost in a double-occupancy dormitory on campus. MacDowell Colony Residencies Deadline: January 15, 2016 Residencies are awarded based on a completed application to the Colony. Applications are chosen by a peerreview panel. American Nuclear Society (ANS) Graduate Scholarships Deadline: April 1, 2016 A series of scholarships to help students complete their post-high school education and prepare for careers in nuclear science and technology Exploration Fund of the Explorers Club $1,200 grants in support of exploration and field research. Funds given primarily to graduate students.

6 Fulbright Educational exchanges that strengthen understanding and communication between the United States and over students from 140 countries. Students interested in applying for the Fulbright Student Program must apply through the Fulbright Program Office in their home country. Microsoft Scholarships Various scholarships for undergraduate students interested in computer science and related technical Disciplines: one year award for students attending institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, also required that the student complete a salaried summer internship.
