1 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 1 Tax Audit e filing: As per Notification No.34 dated 1 st May 2013, efiling of Tax Audit report is mandatory from the assessment year onwards. Tax Audit report is to be furnished in Form 3CA and Form 3CB and the particulars required to be furnished along with these tax reports should be in Form 3CD. Form 3CA & Form 3CD: These Forms are used in case where the Accounts of the business or profession of a person have already been audited under any other law. Form 3CB & Form 3CD: These Forms are used in case where the Accounts of the business or profession have not been audited earlier. 2 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 2 Step by Step approach on e Filing of Tax Audit Report For e filling of Tax Audit Reports practicing CA should register himself as Tax Professional in the e filling application and Tax Professional (CA) should be added in Client s Login. Things to do from Assessee User Account: The assessee is required to ADD CA from his user account. After ADD CA the List of CA is appearing in the user account of assessee. ADD CA shall be activated only if Membership Number of CA is registered with e Filing Application of ITD Accept/Reject the Income Tax Forms uploaded by the CA. Things to do from CA User Account Chartered Accountant should registered as a Tax Professional in Filing/Registration/RegistrationHome.html Digital Signature is required to be registered at the time of registration. Upload XML file from the user account of CA who has conducted the audit of concern. While uploading XML file (tax audit report) you have to use the Digital Signature of CA. Registration by Tax Professional (CA): Here, we are providing step by step instructions for the registration process of Chartered Accountant on ITD website. Pre requisites: (a)you should be a practicing Chartered Accountant (registered with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI, with a valid Membership Number). (b)you should have a valid Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Digital Signature Certificate.

3 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 3 Step 1: Type the following URL in your Internet Browser URL : Filing/Registration/RegistrationHome.html Step 2: Click on the 'Register Yourself tab as shown in the image below:

4 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 4 Step 3: Select radio button given against 'Chartered Accountant under Tax Professional as shown in the image below then click on Continue button.

5 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 5 Step 4: User will be directed to the Registration form,on the first page CA proffessional is required to fill his basic information and upload the Digital Signature Certificate. Click on Continue and the CA credentials are validated with the ICAI database available with e filing application.

6 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 6 Please Note: Java Runtime Environment 1.6 or above should be installed in your system for successful registration of Digital Signature Certificate. Step 5: Afterwards, the user will be directed to the Registration details page and the user needs to enter the complete contact information and password details. Complete the form and click on Submit. Step 6: On successful registration the user will receive a confirmation with a User ID and activation link to the registered e mail ID given by CA. In order to activate the account, the user should click on the link.

7 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 7 Process for adding Chartered Accountant from Assessee Login: To add Chartered Accountant, Assesse should login to account on Income Tax department e filing website. Go to My Account Add CA

8 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 8 Enter the Membership Number and Name of the CA will appear automatically. Select Form Name and Assessment Year. Enter captcha code and click on Submit The Chartered Accountant must be registered with e Filing application otherwise Assessee cannot add the CA. This will add the CA in client s account for that particular Assessment Year selected, which enables CA to upload the return on behalf of the Assessee. Also, you can view the CA added by you using the option List of CA provided in My Account.

9 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 9 Process for generating XML file for 3CD Reports using Zen Income Tax Software:. For generating XML files for 3CD Audit Reports, open Income Tax software go to the following option in menu bar: Audit Tax Audit 3CD (New) Fill the Annexure details and for XML creation click on e filling option given in left panel of the screen (enclosed with red mark).

10 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 10 Process for uploading the Tax Audit Reports from CA Account Login: View Client List: Chartered Accountant can check the list of those clients who has added him\her in their accounts for Audit Report Filing from My Account View Client List option.

11 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 11 View Client List displays the list of clients of the CA. Search can be done based on PAN, Form Name, Assessment Year and Status. Using this option CA should confirm that client exists in his account or not before proceeding for uploading the form.

12 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 12 Upload Form: To upload the Form go to e file and click on Upload Form as shown below in the image.

13 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 13 Fill the complete details provided in the form as shown in the image below: User ID: It will take automatically PAN of the Assessee PAN of the CA Form Name Assessment Year Attach the XML Select the Digital Signature Certificate

14 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 14 Digital Signing is mandatory. Select the Form Name and Assessment Year using the drop down menu and browse the XML file for the respective Form by click on choose file button. (Fields marked with Red asterisk are mandatory to be filled.) Please Note: If user selects form 3CA or 3CB, he has to upload additional attachments like, Balance Sheet: Mandatory Profit Loss Statement: Mandatory Cost Audit Report: Non mandatory Excise Audit and/or Other Report: Non mandatory You can attach the documents using the choose file option given in front of each document.

15 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 15 As user clicks "SUBMIT" and the fields are validated for correctness, a message is displayed indicating the successful upload of the Forms. On successful upload, the Income Tax Form is sent to Assessee s workflow for acceptance. The Assessee should login to e Filing application and accept/reject the Income Tax Form. On Approval, the Form is successfully submitted with the e Filing application.

16 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 16 Process to be followed by Assessee for Approval/Rejection of the 3CD Forms uploaded by the Chartered Accountant: To complete the e filing process Assesse should login to his/her account on Income Tax India E filing website and go to the Worklist option available there. Worklist option provided which shows the returns uploaded by CA on behalf of Assessee for approval or rejection in Assessee login. List of Forms uploaded by CA will appear. Select the Form.

17 Tax Audit Reports Efiling Manual 17 Form as filed by the CA and attachment uploaded can be viewed. Select Approve or Reject.For Approval Affix Digital Signature If Rejected reason for Rejection is to be mentioned. In case of rejection, the Tax Professional can file the Income Tax Form again and follow the same process as mentioned above. After verifying the forms Assessee is required to click on Submit to complete the e filing process. This completes the E filing process of 3CD Audit Reports.
