CMX Embedded TCP/IP Stacks and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for All Derivatives of the 8051, Infineon 80C16x, and STMicroelectronics ST10 Processors Are Seamlessly Integrated with KEIL C Compilers C16x/ST10 Overview CMX Systems, Inc., has been providing real time software to the embedded systems industry for over ten years. Our reputation for producing exceptional software and backing it up with meticulous service and support has allowed CMX to become the leading vendor in 8-bit and 16-bit processor marketplace. Read on to learn more about: CMX-Micronet a TCP/IP stack requiring less than 16Kbytes of ROM! CMX-RTX the lean and mean RTOS for most embedded applications CMX TCP/IP a 100% RFC compliant TCP/IP stack loaded with functionality CMX-Tiny+ a very small RTOS for single chip solution applications CMX-RTXS the world s fastest commercially available RTOS
CMX-MicroNet Embedded Internet Finally, the Right Connectivity Solution for the 8051, 80C16x and ST10 Processors Using KEIL C Tools! CMX-MicroNet has been developed by the company that is famous for providing complete, elegant solutions to the embedded community CMX! Our developers have the expertise and hands-on experience to satisfy the most stringent real time demands that the 8-/16-bit community deals with every day. When we set about the task of creating the first true TCP/IP stack for these popular processors, we knew that it had to have: An Extremely Small ROM/RAM Footprint. Contact us for our latest memory specifications and prepare to be absolutely amazed! (generally from 3.5K 16K!) Only Industry Standard Protocols. Of what benefit are closed, proprietary protocols that constrain and confuse your development team? CMX-MicroNet offers only industry standard protocols running right on your target processor and we provide full source code with every sale! No Reliance on PC s or Gateways. Seems like a waste to have to attach a PC to an 8-bit target, doesn t it? Why not just fit everything right on the processor with CMX- MicroNet? An Affordable Pricing Structure. CMX-MicroNet offers a low, one-time fee and no royalties on deployed products. And you get the entire source code for free with every purchase!
CMX-RTX A Truly Preemptive RTOS for the 8051, 80C16x, and ST10 Using KEIL C Tools WHAT DOES TRULY PREEMPTIVE MEAN? Some RTOS vendors offer only cooperative scheduling which means that the running task has to call the scheduler to perform a task switch. Others offer time slicing in which each task runs for a certain period of time at which point a task switch takes place no matter what. Other vendors claim to be fully preemptive, yet they do not allow any interrupt to cause a preemption. All of these models will fail you at one point or another. CMX-RTX allows a task of higher priority that is able to run (whether starting or resuming) to preempt the lower priority running task. This will cause the scheduler to save the context of the running (lower priority) task and restore the context of the higher priority task so that it is now running. A truly preemptive RTOS allows interrupts to cause an immediate task switch. This means that the interrupts now have the added ability of using the RTOS s functions. A Screen Shot showing CMXKAware, which is available for use with CMX - RTX, KEIL, and many emulators. This module provides kernel awareness for CMX -RTX and can be a powerful addition to your debugging tools.
CMX TCP/IP INCLUDES: TCP UDP IP ICMP ARP CMX TCP/IP Full-Featured TCP/IP for 80C16x and ST10 Using KEIL C Tools CMX-TCP/IP is a portable ROMable stack for embedded processors. It uses the CMX-RTX RTOS signaling mechanisms to provide a true multitasking reentrant stack. When no RTOS is available, CMX-TCP/IP provides a straightforward single threaded stack, which supports multiple sockets via the select multiplexer. Memory usage is localized and deterministic. It is a 100% RFC compliant stack. CMX-TCP/IP includes the following: port to specific processor and compiler (such as 80C16x), Device Drivers for specific processor, an x86 PC reference port with support for many Ethernet drivers, full source code, standard BSD sockets interface, RFC compliancy, complete detailed manual and sample test programs. Configuration of CMX-TCP/IP and its components is extremely easy and allows fine tuning of the networking stack to the programmer s needs and application requirements. 5 Specialized RTOSes Some Times You Have Special Needs for Your 80C16x or ST10 Using KEIL C Tools CMX-Tiny+ the Single Chip Solution The CMX-Tiny+ real time multi-tasking operating system is an extremely lean and mean kernel for those processors that have a small amount of RAM embedded on the processor s silicon (minimum of 512 bytes and higher.) This specially designed RTOS allows the user to develop application code that is run under an RTOS and yet only use the onboard RAM that the processor provides! CMX-Tiny+ does not need any external RAM, regardless of whether the processor can support the use of external RAM or not. CMX-Tiny+ s code size is so small that it allows the processor s onboard ROM to support both the user s application code and the CMX-Tiny+ code, in most cases. This unique RTOS, based on a scaled down version of the popular CMX-RTX, retains most of the power of CMX-RTX as well as the more frequently used functions. Most important, true preemptive scheduling is fully supported and cooperative scheduling is also available, if required. CMX-RTXS the World s Fastest RTOS CMX-RTXS takes full advantage of the 80C16x and ST-10 by utilizing the register bank switching scheme normally used for interrupts and applying the same concept to tasks (a task can be considered to be a piece of code that performs a specific job, but not at the interrupt level.) The 80C16x and ST-10 have the ability to use many register bank groups with each containing a full set of 16 registers that are 16 bits wide. The actual number of register groups varies depending upon the specific chip the user has selected. This allows CMX-RTXS to support up to a total combination of up to 48 tasks and interrupts (note that you may have up to 4 interrupts with the same interupt level using the same register bank group if so desired.) With the 80C16x or ST-10 using a 40 MHz crystal, CMX RTXS offers a minimum context switching time of 6.5 microseconds (i.e., a full context switch in which the current running task is preempted and its context saved and the highest priority task starts its code.) The maximum interrupt latency time (worst case scenario) is 0 to 3.1 microseconds, depending on user options selected.
About CMX Since its inception in 1990, CMX Company has focused on providing its customers with all of the tools needed to program their embedded applications.
