Cancellation Policy An applicant may cancel his or her enrollment agreement at any time prior to the first scheduled class date. If the applicant wishes to cancel, cancellation must be made in writing to the director of the school. However, in any event the last date of actual attendance shall be considered the official date of withdrawal. ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE Applicants seeking admission to the school must have a personal interview with a representative of admissions. The personal interview may be conducted at the school or in the applicant s home. If the applicant is a minor, at least one parent or guardian must be in attendance during the interview. ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENT To be accepted for admission into any of the Commercial Drivers License Programs, an applicant must possess a high school diploma, GED, or pass an approved Ability- to- Benefit test. Applicants from Rhode Island must possess a valid driver s license for no less than 2 years. Massachusetts residents must have a valid driver's license or license permit, be at least eighteen years of age and be in good physical health. Students who do not possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. will be required to pass an Ability- to- Benefit test with a total minimum score of 410. The school uses Wonderlic and CPAt Assessment tests. Minimum scores in each subtest are as follows: Subtest Verbal Quantitative Wonderlic Basic Skills Test All applicants must attend a personal interview with a NETTTS student counselor.

3 The industry approved examination and the personal interview will ascertain that each applicant will have the ability to gain the knowledge and skill for the training offered and for successful on- the- job performance after completion of the training. A successful score on the industry approved examination ensures that students will benefit from the training provided, as proven by the number of students who have completed the training and are employed in the field. The successful candidate will have attained a successful score on the entrance examination, which is reviewed by a qualified, independent third party for appropriateness and specific score levels required for admission. In addition, each applicant must be recommended for admission by one of NETTTS student counselors. The applicant must be beyond the compulsory attendance age of secondary education in the applicant s state, and the applicant cannot be attending a school at the secondary level. The school does not discriminate against students enrolled at the school on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, age, disability or national origin. The Commercial Driver s License permit in Rhode Island is a combination of several written exams. CDL Exam Class A Class B General Knowledge Mandatory Mandatory Combinations Mandatory Not Applicable Air Brakes Mandatory Mandatory Doubles / Triples Optional Not Applicable Tank Vehicle Optional Optional Passenger Endorsement Optional Optional Hazardous Materials Optional Optional The minimum requirements will depend on the vehicle you plan to be driving and the type of commercial driver s license you want to obtain. You will need to take all of the CDL written exams that apply to the commercial driver s license and endorsements you need. For example, if you plan to drive an 18-wheeler you will need the General Knowledge test, Air Brakes test, Combination Vehicles test - these are the minimum requirements for a Class A CDL. For a Class B CDL example, if you are driving a vehicle without air brakes, you would only need to pass the General Knowledge exam. STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES Students with disabilities are accepted for enrollment at the school. All students are required to pass a Federal Department of Transportation Physical prior to any field training. A student must obtain the D.O.T. medical card in order to be able to practice or drive a commercial vehicle over public roads. For students who believe they may have a disability that would prevent them from receiving a commercial driver s license, it is suggested that they obtain a D.O.T. physical before applying to the school. In any event, any student who is not able to pass the physical will have his total tuition and fees refunded to him/her upon determination by a physician that he/she does not meet the standard to be issued a

4 D.O.T. medical card. STUDENT ADVISING Gina Gorman is the school s designated Student Advisor. Gina has 14 years experience with the school. TRANSFER OF CREDIT Students who provide evidence of tractor trailer driver training at another school may request an evaluation of the nature and extent of the training. NETTTS will accept the hours and training activities that would be duplicated unnecessarily. Tuition will be adjusted on a per hour basis at the school s current tuition charge. Students can obtain comparable program information related to tuition and program length by contacting the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges: 2101 Wilson Blvd. Suite 302 Arlington, VA CAREER AND PLACEMENT SERVICES

6 The school does not infer or guarantee job placement upon completion of the program offered. However, the school does make a sincere effort to refer graduates to job opportunities within the industry. NOTE: failure on the student s part to obtain the appropriate state license may affect placement eligibility.
