Machine Description: The Filling Machine ALP 603 is an Automatic Aseptic Form-Fill-Seal Filling Machine. The working process are described as following: The basic concept of the system is the combination of three major steps. These steps are: 1) bottle blow molding, 2) bottle filling and 3) bottle sealing. Instead of having three separate machine with each doing its own function, independent of each other, the ALP System combines these functions into one continuous operation. The four basic steps of this system are as illustrated below: C D B A The thermoplastic (A) is continuously extruded in a tubular shape. When the tube (or parison) reaches the proper length, the mold (B) is closed and the parison has been pinched closed and the top is held in place pinched closed and top is held in place with a set of holding jaws (D). The mold is then transferred to a position under the blowing and

4 filling nozzles. E The blow fill nozzle (E) is then lowered into the parison until it forms a sea with the neck of the mold. The bottle is formed by blowing filtered compressed air into the parison, expanding it out against the walls of the mold cavity. The compressed air is then vented from the bottle and a metered amount of product is forced into the bottle thru the fill nozzle. When the bottle is filled, the nozzle is retracted to its original position.

5 F At this point in the cycle, the length of parison between the top of mold and the holding jaws is still semi-molten. Separate seal molds (F) close to form the cap and hermetically seal the bottle. After the bottle is sealed the molds open. The finished bottle, completely formed, filled, sealed and bottom deflashed is then conveyed out of the machine. All above described working are performed under the HEPA filter (glass 100). Working process description:

6 Thermoplastic pellets are converted into molten plastic that is extruded in a tubular shape (parison). Precision temperature controls are provided to regulate the temperature of the plastic being extruded. The extruder is driven by a variable speed DC motor. The extruder drive controller may be adjusted for parison centering, parison wall thickness and flow. When the parison reaches a specified length a mold closes and the parison is cut by means of an electrically heated knife. The extruder is cooled by a Mokon heat exchanger. The bottom of the parison is pinched closed and the top is held in place with a set of holding jaws. The mold carriage transfers bottle molds from the parison head to a position beneath the filling nozzle. The fill nozzles consist of two tubes that descend as a unit into the parison. Filtered compressed air is blown into the bottles for a specific amount of time to force the parison out against the walls of the mold cavity forming the main portion of the bottle. The compressed air is then vented from the bottle and the fill tube permits product to be pushed into the bottle to the specified volume. The individual metering of product to each fill nozzle is controlled by an electronic solenoid. The nozzles return to their original positions after filling is completed and another set of molds, seal molds, close to form the cap and to hermetically seal the bottles. The mold opens and a card of 8 bottles has been formed. Molds are cooled by filtered chilled water. Chilled water also maintains the temperature of the hydraulic system. The bottom of the card is de-flashed by the ALP machine. The 8-bottle card is conveyed out of the filling room. The hydraulic system provides the power for the following machine functions: Carriage forward/back; Main mold open/close; Seal mold open/close; Metering drive forward/back; Outer nozzle up/down; Extruder lift up/down; and Bottom de-flasher/take-out mechanism up/down. The pneumatic system provides filtered compressed air to the parison cut-off knife and for the parison ballooning, at cut-off. ALP # is steam sterilized-in-place using filtered clean steam and cleaned-in-place using Purified Water.
