2 Equi-lete The Equi-lete products are a superior line-up, built with the highest quality ingredients and based on the latest research and technology available! Our goal is to provide these elite products at a reasonable price, making them more than worth the investment! The Equi-lete products began as one product that was designed to be a basic vitamin and mineral supplement. It has grown and developed into the premium line of products that we have available today. As the Equi-lete product manager, I have enjoyed the challenges and rewards of developing this line, as I have been a part of this project since the beginning. One of the greatest rewards for me is hearing testimonies from our customers of how the Equi-lete products have made a real difference in the health and performance of their horses. We measure success by results! This is evidenced by the champion horses using our products! I look forward to bringing this research and technology to many more people, thereby improving the well-being of horses for years to come! 4 General Introduction Vitamins and minerals are essential for your horse s health, longevity, and performance. More specifically, vitamins and minerals are needed for a host of physiological and metabolic functions together with providing the critical building blocks for immunity and health. Horses in their natural environment are able to select from a number of different grasses, legumes, forbs and shrub species to meet their nutritional requirements. In captivity, horses have to rely on us to provide them with their nutritional needs, via the feedstuffs we provide. Often this leaves gaps in their vitamin and mineral requirements. Equine nutritionists use scientific data from research studies to formulate equine diets based on the horse s requirements, and they take into account a number of factors including: a) the age and stage growth b) animal weight and breed c) activity level d) feeding strategy e) the nutritional quality of the feedstuffs Formula feeds are designed and sold based on the feed meeting a range or a specific set of nutritional requirements, depending on the class of animal being fed. If the feed is fed according to the feeding directions and the feed is a good quality product, the supplementation of vitamins and minerals is generally unnecessary, unless to address a specific metabolic or nutritional issue. However, most animals are fed less than the recommended feeding rate because their animals are easy keepers, obese, on a restricted diet, high feed cost or are using a home grown formula of feed, oats and hay. Since the animals are not getting the recommended level of feed, this can lead to mineral and vitamin deficiencies which can compromise the horse s health and well being. For example, easy keepers or animals on a restricted diet subject to restricted feed or grazing, have limited access to the vitamins and minerals found in green grass, many of which are lost when green grass is cut for hay. Similarly, hard keepers, lactating mares and performance animals may require higher levels of vitamins and minerals due to their greater than formulated requirements. Hence the need for a scientifically based vitamin and mineral supplement program designed to fill the nutritional gaps in horse diets. ~ Dr. Peter Karnezos 3

5 Who s Using Our Products? We have used High Step to show and produce four consecutive World Percheron Champions. The current Supreme World Champion Stallion, Windermere s North American Maid, better known as Moose, is also on Fertility EQ. We really appreciate it because it helps to get our stallions to their maximum performance for every collecting and shipping season in our breeding operation. We also are very happy with Physique. We use it on all our young horses. We really believe in this product as well. We are thankful, that all the products are at the best possible price. There s nothing that can compare in quality and price to the products that are offered by Homestead Nutrition. Gerald & Melissa Allebach Windermere Farms Percherons Spring Mills, PA Moose 2010 Percheron Supreme World Champion We are very happy with the Equi-lete products that we have been using, especially the Fertility EQ. It is a very good conditioning product, and we have had a successful year in breeding the mares we had on it. We are also pleased with High Step and High VAULTage - the overall conditioning, better foot and coat condition, and more energy and endurance. Physique, what can I say? I have never had healthier and faster growing foals. I would never sell a mineral product that I do not use and believe in! Jacob Riehl RRA s Percherons. Used By Champions! 4

10 Who s Using Our Products? I started feeding Equi-lete High Step in January 2012 and was impressed from the start. My horses spring hair shed easier and faster, and their coats were glossier. They had more snap when worked and held weight easier. In June of 2014, I attended the Equi-lete training seminar and paid special attention when the nutritionist spoke about High VAULTage, particularly the benefits of using High VAULTage for bred mares and growing foals. I started feeding it that week, along with Physique. I love what it has done! Even though my horses were in good shape because I had been feeding them High Step, I still noticed a difference. Particularly in one horse, a two year old mare, I wasn't very happy with the way she was growing or her overall appearance. But once I started feeding her High VAULTage, in just two and a half months, she made an amazing transition. She grew and blossomed into the mare I thought she should be. Through breeding, I knew she had the potential, but it took High VAULTage to bring that potential out of her! This example alone made me a firm believer. I also started feeding Physique to my young horses. The idea of promoting strong bone architecture, healthy cartilage and muscle development is very important to me. We also started our brood mares on Fertility EQ in 2013 to promote good health prior, during and after breeding. We weaned one mare this summer. This Mare lost no weight and looked healthy and fit until the day we weaned her. We are very pleased with the quality of all the Equi-lete products and believe that they are the best value on the market! Tim Ruth New Chester Draft Horse Company After switching to Equi-lete High Step in my feed this winter, I noticed a change in my draft horse energy levels. They had more pep than before. Secondly, my horses had a dull red roan hair coat. Now my horses are bright and shiny. The nice red stands out. Amos B. Stoltzfus Quarryville, PA I had a yearling Belgian stallion named Hollows Casper that I couldn t get settled in on feed. He had diarrhea and digestive issues. I started him on Physique and immediately noticed a difference in the stool. It had thickened and become more normal. Because Hollows Casper was digesting food better, he began to put weight on as he should, since he was rather thin. He seemed more settled and ate well after starting on Physique. I had him registered for the spring sale in Dover, but I was planning to pull him from the sale because he wasn t in proper condition. After starting him on Physique, he improved substantially, and I decided to sell him after all. He was the highest selling Belgian stallion, bringing $14,000 at the sale! 9 Raymond Lantz Hollows Belgians Glennville, PA
